Hess is a monster right now as a closer, because like all closers, he can rare back and throw the shite out of it for one, or maybe two innings.

A starter has to pace himself and you are not going to get near that intensity from Hess for 5-6 innings.

Our backs are to the wall. You sell out to win the next game facing you. Then and only then do you worry about the game after that.

If Hess doesn't get stretched more than 2 innings theoretically on Wednesday then he could come back and throw Friday.

The situation will determine this, but I'd use Hess to close for Poche, then try to get through Friday without using him. That would allow you to get as many as four or five innings from Hess on Saturday. Together with Gilbert that could get us into the eighth. After that we just have to hope OSU misses the meatballs for one inning.

We have a chance to pitch our number 1 and 2 pitchers the next 2 games. Nothing else to say.

Did you hear the announcers say FSU has 4 switch hitters and they all bat better from the left side vs right handlers?

Poche all day. Maybe bring in Bush in relief if we have a decent lead to save the rest of the pen?
