on Wednesday.

If Hess gets deep into the game, then you can come with Johnny wholestaff.

Pitch Poche' Friday and Lange Saturday.

I think that's the best way to win three games.

Now if you want to win one or two, then go with Poche' Wednesday and Lange next and use Hess in relief as usual; however, who starts Saturday if you do win both?

I know they say take one game at a time, but do you do that; or do you look at the big picture.

Also the radio guys said this morning that Walker may could go in a championship round. Has anyone heard the same?

You throw Poche and pray he goes 7-9 innings.

That is our only chance to make a run.

Hess cant do that, meaning we waste both guaranteed if Hess started.

And who do you have in the bullpen for the Oregon State games?

The only way I see it is

Poche Wednesday let Hess close

Lange Friday let Hess close

Gilbert and all hands on deck Saturday

This is the best and only option for lsu to make it til Monday

Poche and Lange have to give us 7-8 innings each for it to work out

Let's say Poche pitches 7
Hess closes

Then Lange pitches 7, Hess closes.

What do you go Saturday?
That's my point. We have only Gilbert and Wholestaff left.

But I understand, winning one is the only way towards winning two.

Good question when he was a starter I believe he went at least 5 before.

You can't save your pitching for a game you don't potentially play. We play to win and then figure it out when the time comes.

The big picture is irrelevant if you don't win tomorrow. The bottom line is you pitch whoever you think gives you the absolute best chance to win tomorrow and make future decisions as they come.

Gilbert by then, Newman (hopefully the old Newman) and Wholestaff.

Same thing I had.

The only reason I was throwing Hess out to start Wednesday was to give Poche' and Lange more rest.

Your strategy is sound, its the conservative play, but I'm not so sure its the best way to win it all.

Just saying, and I know right now winning one looks tough.

You can't seriously be thinking about Saturday right now...You have to win the next game and I think Poche is the best chance at this point

It's baseball dude anything can happen in a single game. You throw Poche and if you win you throw Lange. Then you ride the momentum from those two games into a single game where anything can happen. The LSU bats can get hot and beat the shite out of OSU just like they did us last night.
It's win or go home you do whatever it takes to win the next game, not try to strategize for some game that may never happen.

I dont know, but if we can get thru the next two, I would think you throw Bush or Beck depending on how you feel with the whole lefty versus righty....not sure it matters, whoever starts and whoever is first out the pen will be about the same number of innings.
