If Randy Livingston is actually doing the game coaching, I like this team.

Talent is better than I thought, and I've always liked Randy.....Still a long ways to go and they've already had a couple of typical Johnny Jones coached terrible performances. Is Randy the game coach?

This team does not make the NIT.

I don't pay too much attention to the team until after the break. After years & years of shitty LSU coaches & average teams, it kinda took my passion away.

A new coach is needed. We get blown out by 35 (would've been worse if not for WSU subs) by WSU. We only beat North Florida by 8 (Auburn beat by 17, Miami by 38, and Florida by 31). Bad loss to VCU. Randy Livingston can't make up for lack of top notch head coach. With Jones prior record at North Texas, he would have never been a major college head coach except for his ties to LSU. You can't turn a sows ear into a silk purse!

look, I dont think Jones is a great coach by any stretch. but to blame every fricking loss on his coaching is lazy and stupid. but thats what the herd of sheep on here do.......so by all means, regurgitate. you even said you dont pay attention so maybe do post until you do

He was ignored by Johnny for the most part, I really hope he gets consideration to replace Johnny when he is fired

Thought I read where someone said Randy was doing the game coaching during the Houston game.

You do know that JJ doesn't let the expert coaches that come in help him so their influence is minimized.

I heard that Clarence Caesar is helping in practice on their three point shooting.

All Tard remarks aside. The Houston game was a good example of how good this team can be. The effort on D was phenomenal and led to many easy baskets.. You know what your going to get from AB he can get his shot anytime he wants. In the wins he's shot good % and will have the ball at end of clock or games. Sampson shot the lights out last game if he can shoot 40+% from 3 huge weapon. Victor is solid and really helped the front line rotation scoring and rebounding. Reath is wild card for this team at times he looks like NBA prospect o ther times not so much.. Epps much improved. If Mays and Patterson can protect the ball and keep it moving this team will play in the postseason. Try coming out and seeing how it turns out .......

That's not necessarily true. The one year with Musselman was the one year LSU was actually a pretty solid defensive team. If you watched Musselman during the games you could see he was very active on the bench when LSU was on defense. I think he was also responsible for putting together the scouting reports, so that probably helped as well. He left, and LSU's group of "third chair" assistants staff couldn't put anything together last season.
Maybe Livingston is doing a bit more. I can't imagine a guy who played in the NBA coached in the developmental league (which exist to DEVELOP young players) is just going to sit idly by and watch whatever disconjointed mess Jones puts out there night after night. Right?

I am not on the Jones bandwagon necessarily, but if you think a loss to VCU is a "bad loss", then you don't know much basketball.

Randy is going to get a lot of undo credit because he is a revered local hero. However, the truth is that he is a reject D-league coach that was only hired here because Johnny couldn't find anyone that wanted a job on the coaching staff of this sinking ship of a basketball program. I'm sure I'll get a lot of downvotes for that statement.
Our basketball coaching staff is an absolute joke. However, this roster of players has a lot of talent. Because of the talent alone there will be games where we look great (i.e. the Houston game) and there will be games where we look like dogshit (i.e. the Wichita State game). I would caution everyone to relax and not jump to any conclusions about this team based on one game. I think this is going to be a very up and down team (mostly up at home and mostly down on the road) that ends up in the NIT.
