If not for untimely penalties, nobody would be bitching today

We'd be up 28-3 or better, and the 4th quarter would be mopup time. That long TD to Dural would have made them back off the line, and LF would have run for 200. Penalties happen in the first game. We'll get better, Jeremy Johnson is no Dak, and we get Auburn at home.

If even one of those calls was different, the entire game would have been, too

While the penalties were legit, they weren't needed and we would have had the big plays anyway.

And the penalties are tuned up (usually) on the first game. We didn't get that. That, and the refs had red jerseys on under their black and white.

But we weren't up 28-3 and were operating like we were. That's the reason for the bitching.

It was what it was. Manage the game accordingly.
