IMO the coaches that will be candidates will not be exciting, just like the last coaching search.

I can see it being Tuberville, Kirby Smart, Houston Nutt and David Cutcliffe.

That is a lot like the last search of Miles, R.C. Slocum, Nutt and Petrino.

In that scenario, Smart would be the only one I wouldn't throw up on.

The names will probably be different but that's the type of names I envision.

I'm saying those are the type names if it was like the last search.

you bring no realistic insight to the board. i do like kirby but he ain't gonna be the guy. we are going to be somewhat risk averse.

You are aiming way too low then.

LSU is much more prestige right now than you are giving credit.

LSU should stay with Miles than just settle on a "realistic" candidate right now.

LOL you can see it being tuberville, smart, nutt, cutcliffe..

Seriously, you should GET REAL.

In no way to I like any of those. I was just pointing out how bad the talent pool was for the Miles hire. I just hope it's not an underwhelming pool like that search.

Tuberville, and Houston Nutt are absolutely not on anyones radar.

Houston Nutt hasn't coached in 4 years.

If we fired Les Miles and hired a coach that hasn't coached in four years people would burn the Athletic department down. The Boosters would lynch Alleva.

Maybe I worded it wrong. I do not thing those are the guys. I was just comparing to the last time. Not serious in any way.

That was part of my point. R.C. Slocum was in the same situation if I remember right.

It will be someone with a good looking HC resume, most likely from a P5 school. You don't half arse this one considering what we are giving up (which is a very good coach who brought a lot of success to the program, however stale it may be at this point).

Yeah I made this thread joking about how bad the last serious candidates were for the Miles hire. Some of these guys got all worked up over it for some reason.

I think we are in a different situation that when we hired Les in 2005

People know someone not named Nick Saban can have success here.

The SEC has become THE conference.

We have a frick ton more money coming in from TV deals.

Saban left on Christmas Eve, a bit late in the game.

you have to wonder if we knew earlier if we would have been in on Urban Meyers.
