If LSU told Coach O that he would get a fair evaluation...

For the head job, does that mean that Aleva doesn't already have his man? Is that risky? I can't wait to see what Herman says when asked about the LSU job. It's going to be a long wait I suspect.

I don't think Alleva has someone hired yet.

I was just commenting on this.

Coach O just wants a fair interview. If LSU was to get a Herman or a Fisher or someone on that caliber, then even Coach O would understand IMO.

It just depends how they finish and who exactly LSU can get.

no way we've hired someone yet. I don't trust Alleva anyway ... AND if we had already hired someone, we won't know about it until 2 months+ down the road from now.

I think short of running the table O knows he's not the guy. This interim gig only helps his career though and I think he can appreciate that. I think it'll be clear cut come mid-Nov to all involved.

No, Alleva does not have his man and, no, Orgeron will not be the next LSU head coach.

Is everybody serious with this? Looking at the rest of the schedule, if Miles were still coaching I'm looking at 2 wins, 4 losses, and 2 toss-ups the rest of the way. I mean, we're looking at three teams that can beat anyone in the country, at you guys expect ANY coach to run the table just to earn/keep his job? Just sounds ridiculous to me. I think if we see improvement game by game, and if we see players playing with some fire, then in my eyes O would be the guy. I think he knows when to delegate and he knows when to take charge. Most importantly, for me, I think I will enjoy watching an LSU football game for the first time in a long time, win or lose.

I could not agree more. Expecting Coach O to run the table against this gauntlet of an upcoming schedule is just not realistic. If he somehow were to pull this off, it would be one of the greatest, if not the absolute greatest, turnarounds in NCAA history and he should be nominated for Sainthood. Steady improvement and a team that is disciplined and plays with intensity will be enough to convince me that Coach O is the right fit for LSU.

Im thinking of a plug the hole kinda guy. He's in this year, maybe next year if we can't get the home run hire we want. Maybe his job to lose.

O would not be the new Mike Archer because Archer was never a HC before LSU hired him. O was HC at Miss and interim HC at USC. He has experience.
