RickDaddy - you said if LSU recruits it self, why did we lose so many recruits in the 90s? This is what people have been trying to tell you for a long while, Do you think if Miles was hired in the 90s it would have been any different? NO !!!! The facilities were AVG at best, remember we were still busing our players to the practice field, it was hard to sell the program. That all changed when M Emmert hired Saban came in and got M CLayton and Spears, M Hill,Whitworth and our local players to stay at home, cause(as YOU RD said) Most of our elite athletes had been leaving the State(M faulk,K Stewart,P Manning,ED Reed,Reggie Wayne ect) for Fla St, Miami Ect ect. And at the same time with AD Mark Emmert the facilities were being Upgraded and new facilities being built. With LSU NOW winning and a little over a year removed from a National Championship & with all the upgrades and new facilities in the works, and being planned, RECRUITING for LSU got a lot easier. Miles recruited kids showing off new facilities, like the Football operations office, mostly designed by Saban being built, New locker rooms, Players lounge, New weight room, 15 million dollar facility to go along with a 54000, sq foot Academic Center,1000 seat Bo Campbell Auditorium, Eric Hill Communications Studio, Career Center& Academic Hall of Fame. NO COACH in LSU history, NO COACH in LSU history has had the recruiting advantages that Les Miles inherited!!!!

Are you always a dumb shite or do save your retard posting for the rant?
The comment was about guys acting as if Les was really looking for a job when he was set $$$$$ wise whether he got a job or not.
I am on record that les buyout when Alleva gave it to him was out of line as is the current O buyout. In fact, the O buyout is worse than the Les buyout. At lease Les gave LSU some elite years. O hasn't given us shite yet to deserve the buyout Alleva gave him.
Wake up!

This was a quote (or close to it) on ESPN two seasons ago,

Mayh-I agree Saban said when taking the LSU job that you rarely see a coaching change with this much talent! But you say Miles was left with ONLY room for 13 spots(like it was some big problem). NO Miles was left with the most talented roster in the country, Jamarcus Russell, M Flynn, Joseph Addai, Dwayne Bowe, Craig Davis, Glen Dorsey, Skler Green, Jacob Hester. Tyson Jackson, LeRon Landry, A Whitworth ect ect!!! Saban stays or Any coach would have had the 13 spot class. You bring up DiNardo's recruiting , that's my point , he recruited well without the big Recruiting budget, without the state of the art facilities to pitch to the kids, without the big money assistants, I mean our coordinators are paid more than what we paid Saban. Can you imagine Dinardo in Miles situation with big time assistants? I don't think he would have lost those 2 games in 06 or 07, mainly 07 Ark, Kentucky(JMO) No Coach has had the recruiting luxury at LSU that Miles has had, and now Coach O, who will be judge the same

Miles inherited around 30 NFL players when he arrived at LSU, Saban inherited 11. There's no comparison there recruiting holes or not.

Damn the bad luck, Miles took over with 30 NFL players and no Saban in the SEC, and he still lost 2 games a year. Go Figure
