STYLE matters. That's why those of you wondering why we get screwed
Don't bother trying to explain it to them, I have tried a million times and they still don't get it. They think as long as you win by 1 point and look like shite, that's all that matters. In CFB, it's not just about W/L, it's about style points. This isn't the NFL.

How does the SEC maneuver the bowl selection so that LSU is slotted behind all of these teams?

According to the major premise of this thread, because we don't travel well. Isn't that how it works?

Better be careful. If we don't show up in force, LSU may end up as a 10-2 team next year and get screwed by being sent to the Homophobe Bowl brought to you by Ignorant Christians.

Who's to say we wouldn't have shite the bed? We sure did against Arky.

I guess in the fictional world where we travel better and LSU gets the top bowl, we would know the answer. As it stand, we know without a shadow of a doubt that Arkansas shite the bed. We also know LSU DRILLED Fuller, Tannehill, Gray, Swope, and the gig 'em gang.

This seems like a letdown, the whole season does, and the brand of football simply hasn't been that exciting to watch so that kind of let the air out of the tires. LSU ususally does come out and roll in bowl games, however (except for CAP 1 bowl), so they will probably demolish Clemson. Not that high of an entertainment value

You suck. Just saying. If I lived in GA like I used to, i would be there. my brother will be there, work willing.

Our style does suck, but the offense is getting better at least.

OU was the team that the Cotton needed in order to get Texas A&M. Texas was not going to play them because A&M bolted to the SEC. And yet, reportedly there was still some politics in play to get them to that game Sunday morning after knowing the fate of Texas the previous night.

That's fair. I assumed they would take best available B12 team against LSU. I admit if LSU went Cotton, I'm not sure if it would have shaken out the same.

UGA - 1-2 vs the SEC big 6. Received a notoriously weak regular season schedule but gets credit for playing Bama close (I guess LSU got blown out by Bama)

So, last year you bitch about the teams going to the SECCG getting screwed in bowl selection because bama sat at home.

Do you think this LSU team would've beaten UGA? I doubt it the way our D was playing. So which is it? You bitch about screwing us in 05 with the peach, so they did something about it.

South Carolina - 10-2, AP rank 11, BCS rank 10 (lost to LSU)

won't rematch clemson. That is terrible tv.

Texas A&M - 10-2, AP rank 10, BCS rank 9 (lost to LSU

fans are more excited. LSu plays in dallas next year, JFF>toss dive.

how? just how is that going to affect future bowl game selection? the way the system is we already got hosed by the sec and two higher ranking bowls? in addition, it is my understanding that LSU has to guarantee a certain amt of ticket sales and it's LSU's job to sell them or eat them. we will get better bowls in the future if we finish with a one loss or no loss season no matter how many LSU fans attend this bowl.

having said that, it will really look bad and be embarassing if no LSU fans show. it will be misinterpdreted and the chik-filet bowl officials do not deserve that. imo, it would be great if we attend en masse and spend abuot 20 minutes before the game "picketing" with signs denouncing the hose job given us by the sec scheduling. stay there until it hits the tv news. it won't happen but i think it would send a message to slives arse. it appears to me our AD doesn't stand up for us.

But, we also know Arkansas>LSU in 2010. That is a fact.

It WILL also affect income which affects everything else. It WILL also affect recruiting because it shows dumbasses like you and everyone else who only support the team when they win every single game and expect a national championship every year won't show when the team needs them.

ETA: this wasn't directed to the OP it was to the people who are boycotting because they think we should be somewhere different.

Yes, I know you hate LSU. I got it.

Can we just agree that the conclusion of this thread is flawed and you didn't really think it out. You just saw Chicken post the same thing and assumed it had to be correct without regard to what actually happens?

The Chick-Fil-A bowl committee been wanting a higher profile matchup for some time. They're excited about us being there.

quote:

"We're about as excited as you can be to have a 10-win team ranked No. 7 in the nation in the LSU Tigers," Chick-fil-A Bowl president and CEO Gary Stokan said. "Coach Miles has led this team to the pinnacle of elite programs in the country and they will, without doubt, give us one of the best bowl match-ups in the nation."

See preseason rankings. If we no show, play uninspired football, and do not sell hotel rooms it will affect things.

Say us and A&M are both 10-2 next year. USC is 9-3 and UGA is 10-2 and UF is 11-2 with a SECCG loss to an undefeated Bama.

With a shitshow this year, I guarantee you that Bama gets MNC, A&M gets BCS, UF gets Cap one, UGA gets outback, USC gets peach, LSU gets cotton despite beating A&M.

Just a thought on all of this that may be apropos of nothing, Alabama has NEVER been selected to play in the CFA Bowl (regardless of name and corporate sponsorship). That was sort of surprising to me.

It's being said the NIU played a part in this by getting the AQ with their win the other night.

So it will be exactly like it was this year? Way to really punish us.
