If LSU can get whatever coach we want, why not a few million more for Saban?

It sounds like we are willing to pay $7MM a year for Jimbo. How much more is Saban -$10MM? I mean if money is not an object (which folks on here seem to claim - e.g., the large buy out and the next coach's salary). Even if we didn't get him, it drives up the price for the gumps. Jimbo and Saban both coached here, and both of them have recently won national championships. With the huge infatuation with Saban on this site, I am surprised this isn't being pushed for more.

I doubt Saban would want to leave Bama. Jimbo has a want to coach at LSU according to unreliable sources.

Texas offered him in the neighborhood of $10 million - not sure he got the years he wanted (10), but he also wanted to pick the next AD.
So, it is about a little more than money - and $10 million, believe it or not, is a shite ton more than $7 million. Because the staff needs a salary, too.

Saban is 64...how much longer do you see him coaching? I rather get a guy like we did Miles that can stick around for some time.
