If LSU beats Bama, Arky and Florida, Joe should just name CEO as the HC

No need for any off-season search. Just imagine how the players would rally around Coach O and the confidence boost it will give the team for the rest of the season and heading into the next. Think of all the recruits we will land and knowing how well Coach O recruits, I say we sign another Top 5 class in the off-season. I just don't see any drop in the talent we recruit, which will keep us competitive in the SEC West.

He may not be the right man for the job, but if he wins out and still doesn't get an opportunity to come back for a full season, PISS on Aleva and the LSU administration for telling him there was a chance.

Sounds great, but let's not put the cart before the horse.

The head coach talk should wait until the season plays out, before it starts generating smoke it shouldn't.

I think he should just offer him now

No.

And I want Orgeron to be the head coach, but follow procedure. Be deliberate, do your job, take your time and make an informed decision.

This decision guides the program for at least the next few years and very possibly the next 5-10+. Get it as right as you can, don't sacrifice anything on the search to pursue some nebulous promise of momentum and recruiting gains.

I will give Coach O one loss.

He can lose any game except the Florida game.

I disagree. It would be hard to give a true evaluation now bc majority of the games being played in his short tenure have been played at home. Playing on the road is an entirely new task.

If he beats Bama, I wouldn't be surprised if he is named the coach. If he beats everyone but Bama he will more than likely be named the head coach.

djrunner, my guess is you typed that shite while it was still spinning around your skull before it clearly registered as a bad idea, not the idea of hiring coach o but the justification...

No decision of this magnitude should be made without researching all available and desirable options and at what cost.

So LSU is a top 5 job and will pay top 5 money, but you want to hand the job to a coach who can't get a HC gig anywhere else? He's not qualified and LSU can do better. This almost seems like a bad joke. We finally get rid of that buffoon miles, but instead of going out and hiring the best possible candidate, we stumble down the street and find the guy that bombed at Ole miss.

What I dont get is the dislike for the guy as HC. How often does a highly sought after recruit come in and fail miserably while a 3* excels because he wants it more? He might not have Les Miles success here over a 10 year span, but I guarantee you that the football team will always want to be out playing and we will have an elite defense consistently. I like the guy.
