KW got hurt either before or during 08 ncg and i think the injury(knee) was more than they thought, ithink he will be 100% by next season

Mis-used would be the best description. He will explode next season if they will put him out there and stop using him they same way they use Charles Scott.

I don't think it's a matter of bad coaching. It's a matter of having a running back that get's the "hot hands" and when he falls into a lil funk you think he's gonna come out of it any carry, and before you know it, GAME OVER. I personally can't wait to see Stevan Ridley get more carries. I may be a little partial because he is from right here but i just believe he can get it done if given a shot on game day.

Keiland is soft. That is why he is not used more often. He doesn't break many tackles, unless he is jumping over someone.

FWIW, he averaged 6.8ypc in 2007
You think that's more germane to this discussion than his ypc in '08? It ain't. I'd rather Ridley get most of his carries next year.

Since we're discussing RBs, in the past you were singing the praises of Murphy, what happened? Do you still believe?

Makes me sick to say this, but Meyer (I think it was him) was right when saying that UF uses its talent better than anyone. b/c LSU has those type of players that UF has, we just don't use them enough.
he totally misused Moody this year...

Keiland is built like Bo Jackson yet runs like Michael Jackson.

i saw kendall cleveland's name mentioned in the dinardo thread. i think he would be in the discussion as well.

I saw KW slide through a hole on the left side against GT that showed me more vision than he ever has. I think he is getting more confident and patient, and although he does not seem to be as fast as I thought he was, he has ample speed to break one if given the touches.
Would love to see him used in short yardage early next year to see what he can do.

I thought Tommy Banks was the most under used back in the history of LSU football.

I agree

Safe to say underused. I believe he and Stafon Johson were 1/2 2/1 as running backs in various recruiting services. I think both are VERY talented. Stafon has been used more effectively, while for whatever reason, KW has not.
I will say theat KW did look a bit slower this season. In all honesty, he has not lived to his billing.

Joseph Addai was not used as much as a 1st rd back should have been.

look, many folks on this board build these prize recruits up so much before they play a down at LSU, you get left thinking, this guy is a total bust or was misused, etc because he did not live up to the "hoped-for" potential of our purple/gold colored glasses here. We are fanatics and we choose to build our hopes this way, but there is a down side.

Keiland Williams is being used like Garry James was back in the 80's. Nothing wrong with that.

This "underused" claim is simply a myth.
You cannot make that cliam wihtout reference to Charles Scott an dhi sperformance, becuase there is opportunity cost associated wiht each carry.
Scott was a more reliable/ productive all round back. KW was MORE productive as a change of pace back behind CS.
KW seems to have some problems with his footwork and elusiveness, just like another big, fast LSU RB who could take it all the way or die at the line: Charles Alexander.
KW has underperformed his billing. Get over it.
