Bama started one for a game this season and he will compete to be their starter next year. He probably won’t win, but Milroe was good enough to be their backup and he couldn’t pass anywhere CLOSE to as well as Daniels. Are you serious about Clemson? It took them the entire season to move on from DJ U, who also wasn’t as effective as Daniels

You just proved my point for me - Saban and Dabo recognize that you can’t win without a great passer so they’ve both moved on from both of those guys - we took JD back for another year

He wouldn’t declare for the draft cuz he wasn’t getting drafted.

I say yes.

I can't say you are wrong, but I can say that it wouldn't have made sense given Howard had zero chance of starting next year anyway. If anything, Daniels helped Walker's chances at LSU because it gave him a year to catch Nussmeier before he got on the field.

JD is a better passer than the guys you’re talking about.

Zero to do with JD. Howard wasn't playing next year regardless.

If anything, it had more to do with Nuss playing as well as he did in the bowl game.

Milroe was the backup QB at Bama idiot. He started because Young was injured, but that was over a highly touted 5 star who is supposed to be a very good passer. And Milroe wasn’t “moved on” from. He’s still there and will compete for the starting job next season. I don’t expect him to win it, but at least I know who he is and saw him play. It’s clear you don’t have a fricking clue what you’re talking about.

If JD declared then Walker would 100% remain at LSU.

JD only has 1 more year of eligibility whereas Howard would have 3 years left after next season. So why does it make sense that JD and not Nussmeier was the determining factor when Nussmeier, if he stayed, would still have 2 more years of eligibility after next season? Nussmeier staying would have left Howard with only 1 year of eligibility to start.

So, you believe he based his decision on being behind a guy with 1 year of eligibility remaining, but was willing to ignore being behind a guy with 3 years of eligibility remaining?

What's funny is, he MIGHT become a better college QB than Nuss. He just didn't trust himself enough to prove it here.

It’s not even close, really.

What is his motivation to stay if he is still behind Nuss for 2 years

Nuss was better all season. Idk what Jayden being there makes a difference if he is still behind nuss for a few years.

Milroe has been moved on from, according to people in the know about that QB situation, Milroe is not expected to compete for a starting job next season

He didn’t want to be on the scout team for a 2nd straight year. He wanted to be on the same field as everyone else and to get actual coaching. He saw that that wasn’t going to happen and he was going to be QB3 again so he transferred.

This team is better off with a QB that can pass the ball down the field. Having JD as our starting QB again next year sets our program back 2-3 years at least. Do you think Bama, UGA, Ohio State, and Clemson are starting conservative QB’s with limited passing ability?

Or maybe he has access to information you don’t have like idk being present at every practice and watching them play every single day and he KNOWS that Jayden is our best chance to win.

you’ve only seen Garrett attempt 84 passes this season, 4 of them were picks btw and somehow you think you know better than BK. None of us know how good or bad Garrett or Walker is but the Coaching staff DOES know, they evaluate them every day. That’s why WE sit in the stands and watch and they get paid millions to coach.

So stfu and stop pretending you know something you have no clue about and let the coaches do what they get paid to do

That’s perfectly fine but if he was so great he wouldn’t be a 3rd string QB and it would be Nussmeier transferring and not him

I don’t know what goes through the minds of those at UGA, Bama, Clemson, or Ohio State — hopefully the better QB will be the starting QB. I do know, a HC that shows no loyalty won’t be successful for very long.

Yes but he didn’t so we have to move on with the guys we have. The kid coming in 2024 is really good so we are in good shape.

But he would be perfectly content to be the backup QB for 3 more seasons?
