I am purely speculating, but if Crowton were to be fire tommorow. Would Leach be our # 1 target to go after?

I know he has probably earned millions has a head coach, and this would probably be a cut in pay. But maybe it would not be a bad idea to take an O.C. job for a little while so he can lay low with all this Texas Tech/Adam James drama going on.

He is an offensive genius and he has had some pretty good quarterbacks come through his program. But would he be a fit with us, or would we need to go to like a Boise State or Oregon and get their O.C.?

But think about the capabilities of our offense if he took it over.

Now, I am not saying he will come, and he may even go to the NFL. But, would LSU at least try to lure him here?

Why in the hell would leach settle for an o.c. job when he clearly will get a head coaching job somewhere.

Yes, but it will be a PR nightmare for Les and LSU. No way I see this happening.

OREGON?!?!

OREGON!

Isn't that the reason we are in this mess?

god i hope not. Bama, UF, etc would be salivating thinking about facing an SEC offense that doesn't run the ball. we would get worked.

I hope so...I think his passing scheme along with our receiver talent would be a great fit, that being said its highly unlikely that he'll be a coordinator next...we should hire him as OC/Head of Medical Training

No, it's a gimmick offense that works in the Big 12. Have they even won the Big 12 South? Did his team (the best team he's had by far) get whipped by Ole Miss last year in the Cotton Bowl?

Plus, the problem isn't our "3 and out" offense, it's our "3rd and Chavis" defense.

I dont think throwing the ball 100 times per game is something that would be very effective in the SEC.

exactly. they never won the Big 12 and the only reason that offense looks attractive is because they put up huge numbers against the shitty defenses in the Big 12. I don't think TT ever beat an SEC school under Leach.

05 loss to Bama
08 loss to Old Miss

maybe as a QB coach, his offense wouldn't work here.

I would worry about Leach's personality and working within the confines of a team of other assistant coaches. He seemed pretty boorish during the whole Adam James thing...I do believe James was lazy and thought he was entitled, but Leach didn't do himself any favors in the way he handled the media onslaught after the story broke.

Mark Helfrich

He can match Miles for his interviews.

LINK

In all honesty, Mark could fit us well. He has a background of the drop back Pro Style offense and this past season learned Chip Kelly's Spread Option.

That would be my other thought, Billy Gonzales would be a person that definitely have to be considered.

I like the coaches at Boise State, but we have to really see who would be a good fit for us.
