I think we need to go to a lot of man to man coverage. Take our lumps there but I believe we have the talent to do that. Our DB's at this point in time don't have a clue what they are doing in zone coverage.

Les was negligent for YEARS regarding the offense

Yeah, blame Miles because a OC he hired in 2011 came down with a disease and LSU had to scramble at the last minute to resign duties.

Are you kidding me??? Have you not watched the debacle that was our offense the last few years even before Krags??? Get your head out of Les' arse.

we no longer have All American talent

Wait, I thought LSU was the most talented team in the nation every year and by far?

I swear, some of our fans are so fricking stupid.

Not sure where you pulled this nugget from... you obviously are blinded by your stupidity. Shut the hell up.

This was not a well prepared defensive team on Saturday. The D-backs were confused in zone coverages most of the game. The D-line was not imaginative in the rush techniques. The linebacker core is just not big enough, body wise, and they get pushed around alot. When we did blitz we were slow and uncoordinated.

But we have time to fix this. Every team we face now on will try running everywhere and throwing to their wide outs. They will not worry about QB pressure because we don't pose a threat at this time. If we don't fix this then Mett better be on his game every game like Saturday!

Get your head out of your own arse, clown.

2008 was about Miles having to kick off the team a junior to be starting QB who had won the SEC title game for us the year before and who have certainly not had 17 ints and 6 pic 6's as the guy who replaced him had.

Plus, you don't fire a OC after you win a NC. Now, I give you after the 2009 season Miles was slow to do what he had to do after the 2010 season.

Other than being slow on the trigger after 2009, Miles handled the OC problem best that he could with the Krags problem that popped up.

Miles having four OC in four seasons would show to all but some fools here that he was both aware of the problem and trying to fix it.

Wake up, get some sense, or get help in understanding what's really going on.

I never take butting heads on sports forums over LSU stuff personally.

Chavis has provided LSU with some mighty fine D's in his time here. I'm pretty sure he can again with or without whip cracking by Miles.

I'm also pretty sure that if he doesn't, he will not be around long judging by Miles past actions with coaches on his staff.

LSU has taken a major hit with talent loss on the D. Sometimes it just takes a while to reload.

We will see.

I don't blame anyone but they had better get it fixed soon or we will end up just like I said before the season 8&4!

The defense on the other hand, is a slow moving train wreck. If we are going to be honest with ourselves, then we can't beat up Les Miles for the defensive performance we have seen so far. It is intellectually dishonest to hold Les completely responsible for the bad performance and only give Chavis credit when the defense does well.

I agree that Miles can't be held responsible for the execution and schematic problems on defense. That falls squarely on Chavis. Of course, by the same rationale, Miles can't be lauded for the execution and scheme on offense. That credit goes squarely to Cameron.

All that being said, if the defensive woes are a product of a talent deficiency, that implicates recruiting, which certainly falls within Miles pervue. For example, is it is a coincidence that we are struggling at LB and safety when two years ago we lost the top safety and the top LB in the state? Those were in fact the top two players in the state, period.

I'm personally hoping it isn't a talent gap. They linger and are hard to rectify.

This is on the defensive side of the ball. Especially Chavis and Raymond. We need Ron Cooper back because the defense secondary is horrible period.
If nothing changes in the secondary all year, I'll put up www.HireRonCooper.
com after the season is over.

Did Miles/Chavis even look at film of the defensive secondary after the 2012 season and positively rank Raymond's coaching performance? The DB's were a train wreck last year and it's continuing this season. We need a football teacher back there, not another great recruiter.

A lot of football left to be played in 2013, but I'm not of the opinion that we'll see that much improvement from the DB's the rest of the way. Doesn't matter if the pass rush improves either. I don't think that area of the team is in good hands.

BTW, Cooper is currently the DB coach at South Florida and it shouldn't be too hard to get him back here. Miles should have grabbed him after he wasn't retained on the staff by Schiano at Tampa Bay.
