I don't think Cameron should be allowed to stay, his three years as OC have been pathetic.

Nonetheless, if he is kept, he should be offered a one-year deal for less than the 50th highest paid OC in the nation. His performance has been less than that, so that's being overly generous in my opinion.

Year 1 was amazing
Year 2 was awful
Year 3 was up and down.

To say his 3 years have been pathetic is simply not true.

I wouldn't be sad to see him go, but I think next year will be a lot better if he stays. Harris will make his biggest progress this offseason, and I think Cam could be very helpful in that.

Our standards on 'pathetic' may not be the same, but I'd argue Year 1 should be a lot better with Beckham, Landry, Mett, and Jeremy Hill (all in the NFL and the first two superstars). We were outside the top 30 in total offense, with that talent that's insane.

He inherited a loaded roster. It could have been and should have been more "amazing" than it was, imo.

He shouldn't be kept. If he wants to work for free we should still show him the door and pay a good OC

lol

Statistically, it was the best offense in the history of LSU football.

LSU isn't going to gain a ton of yards and be near the top of the list in yardage in the nation because they don't run an up-tempo, no huddle spread offense that runs a million plays per game.

They still ran the ball a lot and controlled time of possession. That's LSU's game.

Pay should be the same for the 2 coordinators and head coach combined as this year. Would be about 2.7 million to retain CC and hire a DC. If Miles can't work that out, he can give up some of his money to get it done. LSU has money problems, and it would look bad for football to increase spending.

Another Rant expert.

Seriously do on any of you have any clue as to how LSU athletic progams work?
Any clue at all?
Any sport?
Anything?

That would be a great way to pay all coaches.

It should have been. You had all kinds of NFL starters on that offense, and even then it was underwhelming considering the talent we had.

pathetic? Really? You just repeating what a moron said or do you stand at the position of moron yourself? No offense, but please look at the numbers.

I am the biggest critique of the LSU offense, but it hasn't been as bad as it was before Cameron.

Also, what direction would you expect LSU to go if Cameron is let go? They're not going to hire a spread guy, thats 100% given, and whatever OC is brought in, he's not going to have much control, and he won't have familiarity with the current guys, and the current guys going into their 3rd years, very KEY players (Harris, Fournette, Dupre) will have to learn a new coaches' terminology? Seems like its not worth the trouble to simply change the name in the program. I think Cam has as good as chance as anyone to expand Les' mind, whether thats a lot of stretching or not. Les will never have the spread at work.

Please propose the alternative, an alternative that would actually result in a better outcome next season than if we just kept Cam.

Tom Brady, Odell Beckham Jr, Jarvis Landry, and JJ Watt. One of these doesn't belong. Do you know why?

I know the athletic department is self supporting and transfers 9 million a year to the LSU system. I know that most of the coaches salary comes from TAF.

FKing Alexander has also stated that he does not want the appearance of increasing spending on athletics going into the largest budget crisis in Louisiana since the early 90s.

Also, I did forget about the buyout. So that gives Miles 3.2 million to spend on coordinators this year with out an increase in his budget.

Everyone keeps complaining about the OCs during Miles' reign yet not one person has mentioned that the one common factor, Les Miles. Every season except for one, 2013, the offense looks similar. That 2013 season everyone wants to re-live was aided by Hill, Beckham, and Landry, but anchored by Mettenberger; who isn't like any other QB Miles had at LSU, and the play calling was different that year. It had to be, Miles doesn't know how to call plays for a pocket passer so Cameron actually was the OC that year. Unless Miles relinquishes play calling it won't matter who the OC is, we will see the same I-toss dive that we saw when JJ was QB, at times when ZM was QB, Jennings, and now Harris. When my 13 and 9 year old daughters say plays are the same whether it's Fournette running the ball or Michael Floyd running the ball, maybe it's time to let someone else call the plays
