He is falling away from the basket when he shoots.
I don't think he shot that way in high school.
The kid should be driving to the basket with his vertical nobody could stop him. Do that until the outside drop falls.

You know how in the tournament some unknown player goes off by shooting lights out. Blakeney and/or Sampson will be that guy!

Instead of automatically taking the long three, he needs to start driving to the basket more and either pulling up for a much shorter jumper or taking it to the rim and scoring or getting fouled. He did that a couple of times this game and was effective.

I think he is having the hardest time adjusting from HS to ncaa. He'll figure it out in time. Just needs to elevate and follow through.
I think he over elevates. Kid looks like he is jumping out the gym every shot. At least he got to the basket some, the BS over the back tip back was insane.

Yea he tries to release at the peak of his jump but he gets 35 inches in the air

Tell him to start shooting mid range jump shots

Every time he shoots, I just assume it won't go in.

I'm with the skeptical crew who is not sure whether or not he's slumping or is just not that good. It's hard to imagine there's an All-American hiding under that performance this season. Obviously, he has the skills and athleticism to be good, but I'm not sure somebody who could be great would not have flashed that in at least a game or 2 yet. Maybe he just needs more time to adjust. Here's hoping.

He was freshman of the week the first week of the season. He's had a rough go since, but I think he averaged 15-20 for the first two games or something like that.

Has everything to do with shot selection. Seems like everything he shoots especially tonight, he had a hand in his face. Unless your a very very select few, you'll be lucky to shoot a good percentage that way. You can tell he wants to contribute. No way he should leave for the NBA right now, just isn't ready yet.

proved tonight that even with Blakeneys slump, LSU can still be dangerous. Just doesn't look ready for the college game yet.
