I was at the game Saturday night

And I just have to say the atmosphere was electric! One of the funnest games I've been to. It just felt like we were going to win all the way up until our delay of game on 3rd and 1. I wanted it so bad I literally charged down 3 steps of the aisle after we stopped hurts on 4th down at the goal line pumping my fist and shouting at the top of my lungs. I was in 636 and there were a few annoying Bama fans close by. Our defense was phenomal. We aren't as far behind Bama as some have said. If Etling completes a couple of those passes then things could have been much different. No doubt, they are better but we balled out on D. No one else in the country will hold them under 20 points. We took a step forward Saturday night. It sucked to lose but if we had a couple OL and a QB we win. If we had better OT's it would have been a different story. Myles Brennan could start next year. I don't anticipate it early in season but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he was starting by mid season. He will be a good one too! Just need some monsters on OL now. We are getting back the dominant Dline recruits and we are closing the gap. This Arkansas game won't be easy tho. I think we are going to beat Florida and A&M. Still have a lot to play for in regards to perception and bragging rights. Looking forward to whoopin some hogs

There were many positives to take away from that game.

WE NEED A QB OFF LINE AND LANE FOR OFF C.

You definitely type like you're from the bayou.

When I read your thought about us still taking a step forward Saturday night I paused. I agree but never thought of it that way. A loss is a loss, period. Nothing good about that. However, Defense was stellar and arguably every bit as good as Bama's D. If our D played against our Offense we may have looked more impressive.
We need serious OL recruits. That is where we get beat by better teams year in and year out - never finesse positions.
Coach O's influence still gleamed positively even in this loss. Keep O and Aranda. For that matter I have had zero problems with Ensminger's playcalling. Execution is on the players.
Thanks for your post and a heads up on the light of things.

I had major problems with his play calling. I felt like les miles had hijacked the play calling. You must have watched a different game.

Offensive play calling was unimaginative, looked like a Miles game plan, and totally ineffective against Bama's defensive scheme. Give Bama D credit - they are monsters - but our offensive game plan gave us no help. Ensminger was lost.

I too feel much better today than right after the game, and I agree CEO - right now - looks good as our HC. With that said, let's see how the team finishes up.
With that said, HUGE PROPS to Aranda and the D. They came ready to play, adjusted all night to what Bama tried to do. We played toe-to-toe with them for 4 qtrs, with NO help from our OFF, and only gave up 10 pts....to a team averaging over 40. Well done Tigers!
Agree that our OL must improve. I saw missed blocks, poor technique, etc. ALL NIGHT. I am still a DE fan, poor guy had no time to set his feet and spin it downfield. I think he was however too tentative, scared to make a mistake. I'll take him again next yr as a senior, with more exp, with Brennan in the wings learning the pos.
Now for the OFF COORD, I have to disagree. IF CEO returns, he MUST hire a new innovative OFF COORD. Too many times we ran into nothing and called pass plays that were inadequate for down and distances. We abandoned the short pass game, and TE..which could have opened up some running lanes. I don't remember once seeing LF and Guice in the backfield at the same time. It was predictable, and MUST get better to compete as a top-5 team.
All in all, many positives to take from Sat's game, but we must get better as an OL (include recruiting/coaching) and we MUST get better at the OFF COORD position. GT!

I will have to study the kid. If he is a pocket passer though we will not beat Alabama with him.
If he is mobile we have a chance with him.

Watching it on tv, my impressions were the same. We lost but we didn't roll over. That will be Alabama's toughest game by far. Our offense had trouble but so did theirs. Late in the game they started breaking through and we didn't, but at that time it could have gone either way.
I'm very proud of the players and the effort.

Defense was outstanding. But this was our best chance to beat them for the next few years. We lose a lot on defense next year

Well said. Was a great game to watch. As has been said many time we were just one big play away from victory.
It was like watching the 15th round Rocky vs Apollo for 4 quarters.
Very proud of those fighting tigers!
