I haven't liked Archie since 1969 and we lost to em.

Apparently some don't realize that Herbie is one of the reasons that LSU is ranked no. 1 by the AP (and Harris). He was quite strong his argument that LSU should be no. 1 upon beating WVU, and should move up over OU. Since most AP voters were watching that game and heard his comments, I think it had an impact. Without his comments, I am not sure that the status quo would not have prevailed. Like it or not, Herbie has a pretty significant impact on the AP poll from his platform at ESPN/ABC. Had Herbie not lobbied strongly for LSU, I think OU would probably still be no. 1, as they have remained in the Coaches Poll.

Eli's a douchebag. Peyton's actually a really nice guy

I thought that Peyton was very complimentary of Miles. I got the impression that he really likes him and is impressed at what he is doing at LSU.

I also thought that it was quite clear that he was being tongue in cheek with his comment about Cooper and Beckham. He was obviously complementing Beckham. Anybody who took offense really needs to listen more carefully and quit being hypersensitive. My goodness.

Herbie doesn't dislike LSU. He pimped LSU as the best team in the country in 2007 and told Chris Fowler he was crazy for doubting that fact at the end of the season. Herbie has said he thinks LSU has been the most impressive this far in the season, although not ready to crown them No. 1 just yet. That's reasonable.

That's just silly.

"I could care less where the Mannings play their college ball but I really didn't care about how Eli cried and complained about being drafted and playing in San Diego and how he wasn't going there..."

This is right on. I used to be a Giant's fan until this.

Wasn't it LSU's fault we didn't get Peyton. If I recall, we were slow playing him to see what another quarterback was going to do...maybe it was booty. He went MLB and we tried to jump back on Peyton. It was too late.

this...from what i heard.

eta...and herbit doesn't hate LSU.

Perhaps the most uninformed and incorrect statement I've ever heard.

You can blame Curly Hallman for that. Peyton made it perfectly clear during his recruitment, you offer Josh Booty, I go elsewhere. Hallman offered Booty and Peyton went to Tennessee. Booty went to pro baseball and the rest is history. I blame LSU's coaching staff for that blunder. They were the top 2 QB's in the nation coming out of high school, Hallman just picked the wrong one. You had to know that both were not going to LSU.

Pretty sure they don't care, but FWIW they're nice people. Guess you were too busy hating to hear the way Peyton pumped up La HS football and LSU's program. The Beckham/Cooper Manning comment was laced with obvious sarcasm. Manning threads are always so rantarded.

Herbie.....this horse has been beaten and dead for a while now. The guy has been pumping up LSU all year.

HERBIE DOESN'T DISLIKE LSU!!! Get over it!!!

PS-All Mannings are D-Bags no matter where they went to college or where they're from. They are NOT nice people and this whole "classy" myth disturbs me. And yes, I've met them all.

If memory serves, not only were we not real good when Peyton signed, but his dad went to Ole Miss back in the day when LSU/OM was still a real rivalry game. He hates LSU.

Peyton was very complimentary yesterday on LSU and Les Miles

LSU coaches blew that one, no reason to blame him

While I get that Herbie has been on LSU all year, I don't agree with him that Bama and OU are now better

Trust me. He and all Mannings dispise LSU. Which is fine, but don't pretend like LSU had a shot with him. He's good at manipulating the media.

This. I've only had any eaningful personal contact with Archie, Olivia and Cooper. All of them are completely gracious, friendly and seem like good people. I have no reason to believe it's not true about Peyton. Eli strikes me as someone who could be a prick, but that's just a gut feeling. He could be fine.
