i think J. Lee should play at least 3 series in this game.

Of course he doesn't do well against Bama with the pressure. Then why not put him in a deep shotgun? have him under center, then drop back at the last moment.

back in the mid 90s when Florida beat FSU in the rematch, they did the same thing when they saw they couldn't handle the pressure up front the first time they played/lost to FSU. made their changes and FSU couldn't get to the QB

JJ can't start off like he did against UGA. We will absolutely lose.

as well as JL throws the deep ball with touch, you gotta take a shot or too. no worse then 3 and outs umpteen times in a row.

Whats "deep"? You can't put him more than 4 yards because the Linebackers on the edge will easily run past the OT's.

Well we had like 7 yards rushing, I wouldn't exactly put all that on JJ. It was a collective team effort of terribleness. Also, I guess the way JLee started against Bama is exactly the thing we need

Like the two times he threw the ball past 20 yards and both were intercepted....

I know what you're saying and it makes sense, but you have to leave this type discussion to sensible people IRL. The rantards are gonna eat you for breakfast and shite you out for even bringing this up. "WHY DON'T YOU JUST PULL FOR BAMA YOU NEGATIGER!!!"

Wrong. On the first INT, he was in the shotgun, got a low snap, picked it up and just threw it quickly and blindly

Caveat: I like Lee as a passer and think the offense has the ability to be more explosive when he is in the game. Against just about every other team I would be on the "start Lee" bandwagon, but against Alabama, I think Jefferson is the best option. He will hang in the pocket (sometimes to his detriment) and can escape the rush. He's not a consistently accurate passer (especially on short to intermediate routes), but you don't fear that he'll make game-changing turnovers as much as you do with Lee.

personally i dont' care who the QB is, but what we did the first time around to Bsma aint gonna work again. NS is just smart enough to figure out how to stop the option.

what can it hurt!!!! or just bring in JL as a decoy, and then run the ball. at least demonstrate some sort of downfield threat.

teams have been running the option for 75+ years, yet its still effective. I wonder why.

This is exactly what I tell people who are scared to death of Nick Saban stopping the option.

Nebraska owned college football with the option during the 90's. Everybody knew it was coming and spent weeks preparing for it, but still couldn't stop it because Nebraska had the perfect athletes to run it. LSU is in the same boat, just 20 years later when Bama was recruited and trained under Saban to bring pressure and stuff runs up the middle with lockdown corners. There's a total mismatch that's still there, and has not so much to do with scheming but moreso with athletes.

Stopping the option is basically playing fundamentally sound on every play. Different formations are gonna assign different responsibilities. With this mixed in with the pro styled offense that we run, it stresses a defense to the max.
