He can blanket the best player on defense and when he struggles it seems the whole team struggles. When he's on, he's the difference in this team.

I agree, but I also think Ben needs to be as aggressive as he was in the Bama game. When he attacks, we are a whole different animal.

Check our record when Ben scores over 23 points and when he scores below 23 points and tell me who the key is again. If Ben is aggressive we win period

Feel like he will settle down and be that leader we need in the backcourt after the Bama game. But Gray is a key player. Needs to be a spark and facilitate when its his time.

If Tim is off Gray needs to be on, if Gray is off Tim needs to be on.

Ben needs to always be on

The two guys that matter most are Simmons and Victor because our backup big guys are really bad.

Gray is a turnover machine with terrible shot selection. He needs to ride the pine.

By the end of last season, Quarterman was looking like a dominant player with star potential. I even have a Lindys Pre season NBA magazine that lists him a 'sleeper to watch' who could blow up into a first round pick. What happened to that guy? We need that Quarterman back on the team. Not this new guy who is doing a bad impersonation of him.

I agree. Victor staying out of foul trouble has been the most important factor that I've seen. I do think Quarterman's play falls right after that, though.

He most certainly is... When Quarterman is on, we are a top 5 team... But when he's off and other players have to step up, that's when we slip.

I sure hope you are wrong but I am afraid you may be correct.

We need other players to improve quickly if we are going to run deep into the playoffs.

As it is if we make it, I see us winning at the most two games- and that depends on who our first opponent would be.

We are still not a consistent team and could easily drop some games that would keep us out of the show

The key is for everyone to play defense, especially backside help and stopping dribble penetration. On offense, the key is to run it through Ben. That will allow the best player to have many touches. With his court vision and passing skills, it will also give the other players better looks at the basket.

Blakeny has looked pretty good lately. I think he's finally understanding that he can get to the basket. Hopefully TQ gets back to that triple double vs. Ole Miss last year TQ.

Do you watch the games?

The same can be said about Quarterman sometimes also.

Gray is shooting 49%. And he averages as many TO's as Tim. We would not have beaten Arkansas without Gray.

The hatred for a backup PG who averages 7 points and 2 assists in 18 minutes is pretty fascinating stuff.

Quarterman is definitely the most important player, assuming Simmons is doing his thing.

Teams are going to focus on Simmons. We need a player capable of dominating a defense that is not keying on him. Quarterman did that to Kentucky, and in theory can do that against anyone. He's a tough matchup, he's not like Gray (for example), where you could just commit a fast guard to stay with him.
Very few teams have a 6'6" wing that can run point, post up and rebound if needed, etc, and defend against that, that would NOT be part of the plan to manage Simmons.

maybe the real key is the coach. IF JJ cannot move this team to consistent play we are in trouble
