Get up here early, tailgate all Morning, go to the game, and then I'd probably go back to NOLA after. Tailgating is our specialty.

Tailgates are set up pretty much everywhere around campus. Where your Lions gear. Park by the UREC, plenty of free parking, then walk towards the stadium. You will see tons of tailgates, walk up to the ones that look like the most fun and are the most inviting. Bigger tailgates will love to have you as a part of their party if you tell them your story of why you are in town. They will give you a ton of alcohol and food.

Prepare for a game day experience like no other. The game time atmosphere itself has taken a step back due to the football team's less than stellar play in recent years, but it's still one of the top game day experiences in the country (pro & college).

I'll just second a couple of thoughts...

1) It definitely will be hot as balls and very humid so wear shorts. We haven't hit Autumn yet.

2) Get here early...like 8:30 or so if you can swing it. You will be glad you did. There is so much going on that you can't take it all in, but try to walk around and experience as much as you can.

3) I would tell you to watch your back in NOLA, but apparently you spend time in Detroit, so if you can survive there, you can survive in NOLA

4) Be sure to report back here at some point and tell tales of your travels. We love to hear the stories....and we want to make sure you didn't eat/drink yourself to death

You are doing exactly what I want to as one of my bucket list goals but a mixture of college and Pro. LSU fans loving showing off their tailgate hospitality and spread. imo the best tailgate scene in all of college football. Wear your Lions gear, walk around and you will have one of the best days you had for a pregame. On top of Victory Hill is where we tailgate(walk up the hill on the road along the north side of the stadium..you will be on the East side of the stadium). You will see 4 Painted LSU breadtrucks. We have a huge barsetup and TVs. come by.

Oh btw. It will be 89-91 Saturday and humid as Saigon. It won't be a cool early fall day like it is now in OH. Our early fall is pretty much still summer. drink plenty of fluids before you all make the walk around and wear shorts.

I've been to Miami and it's basically a giant parking lot surrounding the stadium. Is it like that or no

Too bad your only LSU game will be in the day.

We don't like and don't do day games here.

You will not be getting the true LSU atmosphere during the game.

Tailgating shouldn't be effected too much, but the game will be nothing like a game at night.

Have fun though.............

Dude, find the LSU Dairy store on the LSU campus map and come see us. My buddy Steve Coffee and his Krewe of Old School tailgate there and it will be off the chain this weekend. Would love to show you what's it's all about. Geaux Tigers and "Who Dat"?

Do what everyone is saying and walk around... take in all of it.. especially the march down the hill. But as an FYI we tailgate at the end of the track stadium parking lot closest to mikes cage... If I see a guy wearing lions shite I'll yell who dat at you....then get ya fed and drunk

Also, if you don't end up with a ticket, there are plenty of tailgates that watch the game from their tailgate... were one of em. IT's not the same as death valley...but the bar never closes

Since it's a 2:30 game and our biggest home game of the year, the earlier you get here the better.

Wear your Lions gear and maybe an LSU hat or something and just walk up to a tailgate and say "What is that? It looks good, can I try some?" People will be happy to share.

No baw. You need to be on campus for 8:30-9:00. This isn't NFL parking lot tailgating this is serious business. People's spots will start going up at 6:00-6:30. Maybe if you can stay in BR Friday night and NOLA Saturday on...
