We’d probably have beaten everyone up to 2 weeks ago, but I could see us dropping one to Florida or to Auburn tomorrow. Then the rest of the year is hit or miss. Still, I don’t see us losing more than 3 or 4 games and we end up finishing the year in the top 20 with a decent bowl game.

But championship teams grow on trees, they said...

Any coach can win with Louisiana talent, they said...

I miss Les too. I DO NOT miss cam cameron. Evidently we couldn't have one without the other...and that fact sucks donkey balls.

Yeah we're really moving now. Too bad it's backwards.

Les was 21-13 in conference since the NC loss to bama up to his being fired. Not great, but lets see what the current coach can do.

BTW, from 2012 until 2015 (Miles last full season) LSU under Miles had the fourth best conference record and the second best record in the west.

Western Division:
Alabama: 28-4
LSU: 20-12
Ole Miss: 17-15
Miss. State: 17-15
Texas A&M: 17-15
Auburn: 13-19
Arkansas: 9-13

Eastern Division:
Georgia: 23-9
Florida: 21-11
Missouri: 17-15
South Carolina: 16-16
Tennessee: 11-21
Vanderbilt: 11-21
Kentucky: 4-28

So in reality, other than bama, LSU held their own against the SEC record wise. If LSU was going nowhere, neither was 13 other teams in the conference.

You don’t fire a guy like Les Miles mid season. That was absurd. Maybe you let him know that you’re not happy and you’re looking, but you don’t fire him mid season.

That’s a statement move. If you make it, you better make a statement hire.

We fricked up.

If Les was still the head coach at LSU we would still be struggling only far worse.

The only thing they fricked up on is they should have fired that incompetent far sooner.

Some people act like he was their granddaddy. Millionaire that couldn't get it done and he was fired for it. Nothing more not less.

You guys really think if Les were coach right now we’d be doing what Canada does on offense? Les would have never hired a guy like Canada and if somehow that scenario did happen, Canada would be completely hog tied. The offense would look a lot like it did in the first half against Troy. That was Miles’ offense and that’s why we lost that game!

I’ll give you this: Miles was a much better coach than Orgeron but that has more to do with Orgeron’s terribleness. But he was done. More and more teams would figure out how to simply stack the box and shut down our offense. We would be just as irrelevant come November as we are going to be this year. The only problem here was the wretched job that was done in replacing him.

If less could've just gotten rid of Cam a couple years ago and hired somebody. We would still be in the mix right now

We needed to fire FKing first. He's f-king up more than just the athletic side of the university. Replace him with an Emmert protege. Hell, even the astronaut was way better than this idiot. He at least had outside money rolling in.

Then, that person selects a bangup AD. Someone with a track record of building, better yet, maintaining, a multi-sport major college, athletic program. Not some jackass that inherited a HOF coach in one sport and totally botched his one high profile issue in his tenure.

Then that AD selects a young-ish coach that sets your program for the next decade or more. Good recruiter, good with the x's and o's, and has the ability to attract good coaches while being a good face for the program.

Instead we get a leader ruining the state's flagship university, an AD that is a complete cuck, bullied by the league and other schools, and is lazy and meddlesome, and a Cookie Monster, with a horrible track record as a head coach. Gaining notoriety as studio hosts mock him and every sports writer under the sun wonders out loud why we fired Les in mid season and settled for someone no one would even pay coordinator dollars to. And gave him a huge buyout lest someone come poach our star in the making.

We got rid of Charlie Mac bc he couldn't beat The Bear and wouldn't get rid of Charlie Peavy and update his offense. Yet, he had a clean program year after year, had a few head scratching losses, but was rarely embarrassed and you always felt like we had a chance to win every game we played. Other than the couple of years that Arnsparger won major bowls with Stovall's players, our program sucked for two decades until we got Emmert and Emmert got Saban. I'm too old to wait 2 decades for our program to rise again, and it's headed to Curleyland at a rapid clip.
