I love the fact that everything isn't a home run now and errors truly matter now. Before the game was almost like slow pitch softball and I like small ball and stealing bases and smart base running. That being said when a kid knocks the crap out of one it should be a homerun. I've seen 5 balls that off the bat I knew were gone that were caught on warning track and one in centerfield that was 15' from the warning track. Two of them were back to back for Indiana against miss st. I was rooting for miss st but they should of lost that game in the 9th. When players hit balls that well they should be home runs not fly outs

This. They're a frickin' joke. Removing HRs as a weapon is just not baseball.

Never said as an excuse for lsu at all what started the Confo on my part was the ball the NC state player knocked the crap out of in the 8th inning that should of resulted in a 3 run homer

The bats aren't really the problem.

Instead of popping the ball up high enough to hit a home run hitters should be trying to hit low line drives. That's the adjustment that needs to be made.
I think that was the plan.

17 fly outs later.... we didn't execute.

When we were hitting 180 HRs a year, were the other teams told to just adapt, since they were using the same bats? No, the entire fricking game was changed to take away the HR. Multiple balls were crushed in this CWS and TWO have gotten out. HRs should still be part of the game, not as much as they used to be, but far more than they are now.

Why would pitchers throw anything where a low line drive could be hit? There are no repercussions for leaving pitches up in the zone in this park.

A lot of what LSU batters were swinging at was out of the zone.

I don't think it needs to be close to the old bats cause was becoming a juice monkey game

What was wrong with the bats from 2009? That was a "juice monkey game" back then?

The composite material was improving as the bats were broken in. It increased the trampoline effect of the ball coming off the bat and ball speed off the bats were about 5mph more.

I understand that but base hits score runs too

And this hurt the game how? This created "juice monkey" baseball? The game was fine in those years.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't notice that I said that's why we lost. GTFO.

Agreed. If a team chooses to employ small ball, as a mainstay or as a compliment, that's fine and dandy. But effectively removing long balls as a weapon is what I object to.

And hitting two HRs in all these games is normal? There is serious talk among the powers that be to introduce a pro minor league ball to increase distance. Why would they consider this is everything is just right?
