I just wanted to post a simple positive thread that out of all of the places I could have been born, it was BRLA. Growing up in my household, you were a Tiger fan and a Saints fan. Period. I went to games and watched them on TV. My parents couldn't afford season tickets, but my Dad took me to at least one or two games a year for football and basketball. When Skip brought winning baseball to town, I remember being so proud of LSU winning championships. I remember Dale Brown taking us to the final four and being so proud. I , like most LSU fans, would says there was no sweeter victory than that 2003 football NC, bringing the football program securely back into the national scene.
I guess I am just extremely proud when I travel to other parts of the country and talk about the level of play for both our football and baseball teams, and how our basketball team is IMO on their way to elite status within the next 5 years.
Geaux Tigers , from one fan that has grown up with you and is proud of you.

Going to the "Deaf Dome" in the 80's for some of those great basketball games created some powerful memories as a kid. Can't wait for Coach JJ to get us back there again.

wow you're so clever with your Gheens insight. I'm from Lake Charles and yes I would've loved to grow up in Baton Rouge...at least on the "safe" side

You people need to get out and leave the cave sometime, maybe even cross the state line and experience something new. If living in BRLA is perfectly fine and acceptable, I truly feel sorry for you. Really nothing to be said if that's your entire life experince.

It's not bad here at all and I'm from Miami. Just not too much to do

Since graduating from LSU 15 years ago, I've lived in 3 out of 10 of the biggest cities in the country, but always wish I could live in BR during football season.

Didn't you get the memo? Baton Rouge pride isn't allowed. The only place in the world worth being proud of as your hometown is New Orleans, Louisiana. Although, Houston or Dallas might be a close 2nd.
