SEC official Lane Thomas spoke at our church's Mens Pancake Breakfast and he had a lot of great things to say about Les. He said he was definitely the most unique coach in the SEC and also said he was very funny and friendly to all the refs.

He told us a few stories concerning Miles that had everybody cracking up. Just wanted to say that I'll most likely never meet Les but I'd shake his hand if I did, sounds like a great guy.

I think it was during the 2010 Auburn game but he said Les called him over to the sideline saying, "Hey, did you see that?". The ref was looking around like, "see what?". Miles pointed about 5 or 6 rows up and said, "That guy in the white shirt just made his wife go get him a hot dog. And you know what, he'll probably complain when she gets back that there ain't enough mustard on it."

The ref couldn't believe it cause the tension was so high in this game. He said he was scared to death of making a bad call while Les was over there cracking jokes.

Ah ha! So that's where it starts, at church! You guys are paying the refs from the church donations and giving them pancakes.

No wonder there's a disproportionate amount of holding calls against Bama.

He does it to distract the refs so he can put in the trick ball that bounces just the right way....

Lane Thomas didn't officiate the 2010 Auburn game:

I worked for the team under miles. Dude was a clown for sure but he was as sharp as anyone I've ever seen. Sometime I would just be in aw like how the hell did he see that?? In on play he'd yell at an Olineman and a WR. It's going on at the same time how did you see that?

He's a great guy and very loving person.
