No he was far more productive under coach O. His QB rating was over 15 points higher and his yards per game was nearly 100 yards better.

Etling regressed as the season wore on. I just don't see a high ceiling with him. I want to see Scott.

That was what I thought. Maybe Broham was just joking.

Plus when you consider two if those games were scrub teams those numbers most likely go up.

He was 6-14 for 100 yards vs. an FCS defense in Jacksonville St. Just assuming he would have had 200 yards passing each game he didn't play is absurd.

What?

Games started under Miles

59.6%----167 yards/game----1td/game-----0int/game----119.5 rating

Games under Orgeron

59.5%-----211yards/game-----1tds/game------.5int/game-----144 rating

Average passing yards over 3 games under Miles - 144
Average passing yards over 8 games under O - 211

211 - 144 = 67

67 does not equal 100. The end

True as far as the West you gotta think Hursts is going to be up there somewhere, then you have Ole Miss, Miss St and Auburn with supposedly good qbs returning. Theres a newcomer at aTm who they were drooling over and their offense is designed for the qbs to do good. This isn't even getting into the teams in the east.

Those stats are wrong and I didn't say 100 I said nearly 100 which is correct. You're WRONG.

211-167 is 44 yards.

It is completely disingenuous you are trying to count a game in which he did not start under Miles

Doesn't matter if he started or not he played in the game and you can't use those stats to dog him if I can't use them for my side of the discussion. He avged 144 under miles 211 under coach O those numbers don't disappear because he didn't start. That's a 67 yard difference.

a lot of turnover at the QB position In the SEC this year.

A few returning SEC QBs

Hurts -Bama
Fitzgerald - MSU
Bentley - SC
Allen - Ark
Eason - GA
Patterson - OM

Those top two dual threat QBs with 954 yds and 1375 yds rushing will be tough to beat for All SEC.

Patterson wasn't the starter at Ole Miss FYI. Chad Kelly was. The SEC lost 9 of 14 staring QBs anyway you spin that it's a lot of turnover.

Patterson started 3 games after Kelly was hurt

Yes but he was a backup filling in for an injured player. That's not a starter Eason didn't start every game but he was their starter because he won the job. There's a difference.

Off the top of my head:

Hurts
Etling
Fitzgerald
Eason
Bentley
Lock

That's 6 returning starters there. Both UF and AU have their starters from last year returning as well.

ETA: Allen at Arkansas as well. That's half the league returning their starters with another two who will be on the roster, even if they're backups come game 1.
