because he managed a very touchy situation and came out 13-1. After starting Lee over JJ as a freshman,he soon realized that the team preferred JJ and would not give Lee their full support. When JJ beat GT in the bowl game it solidified the team against Lee and for JJ. Miles was smart enough to leave JJ in control and had to do the best that he could with him. When he is forced to suspend JJ the team [most of the players] rallisd behind Lee [they had no choice]. Lee won every game with the support of the team. Miles miscalculated as to how effective JJ was and took him off suspension during the Nov. 5 game and it was the beginning of the loss of the BCSCG. Folks it is really very simple. Miles walked the tight wire --almost--to perfection!!!

You don't seem to follow the status of players well.

Jefferson was a true freshman who didn't even know what a playbook was at the time. And FWIW, Andrew Hatch started the season.

Its always been about who Miles thought gave us the best chance to win. Nothing hidden, mysterious or underhanded. Just who he felt best about leading us to a W. Agree or disagree with his choice- that's fine- but it's not that hard to figure out.

what is the learning curve for an ohio guy to learn how a southern team is to be handled?

You're either extremely stupid, or Miles himself.

An interesting conjecture. However, why would LM tolerate the team dictating who would play QB? What would be next? Curfew? Class attendance? Practice schedule? Who played where? Hard to believe that he runs the team like that. If so, heaven help LSU.

hey the team dont dictate who starts at QB. only les miles would leave a QB in just to prove a stupid point. the defense played hard and the offense had absolutely no production and it just makes you wonder if there was some money involved.

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read.

Bama used an agressive pass offense, passing on first down most of the time. Our defense forced them to kick 7 field goals, 5 of which they made.
Our offense did nothing, run up the middle, QB draw, ill designed option plays, and in the end NO points. Hurry up next yeat!!

I know that I am retarded, but if my memory serves me right that when Lee was the starter the first year and JJ was the starter in the Bowl game against Georgia Tech which LSU won big time did this not cement JJ as the starter? When was the next game where JJ was declared the games MVP? Did the team ever really rally behind Lee after JJ started???? If the team did I never saw it until JJ was suspended. Was LSU rated NO.1 until after JJ was suspended? Not being a LSU alum I'll drop out and read the threads and learn from the other posters.GEAUX TIGERS
