It depends on the matchup obviously. But, we don't have to fact a pitcher as good as Nola to be vulnerable with Nola on the mound.

In the last 2 years, we've lost a grand total of 2 games in which Aaron Nola started, both of those games, the opposing team scored 2 runs.

In that same span, we've only scored a run or less in just 7 games with one being shortened due to rain.

It's about as close of a lock as you can get.

LSU is going to host a regional. LSU could pitch Tyler Moore against the 4 seed and advance to Saturday. Then Nola wins. Then I don't see anyone beating LSU twice to advance.

Then Nola wins game 1 of the super regional.

People are so closed minded.

LSU has scored 2 runs or less 8 times this year.

With our offense...going against top 8 seed ace, LSU would probably be a 2-1 favorite at best with Nola on the mound.

You're overvaluing that big time.

There aren't many shutdown pitchers in college baseball this season.

Yeah, but we still suck offensively. You don't have to be a shutdown pitcher to shut us down.

I'll go ahead and take my chances with LSU's offense and Nola on the mound.

Win two and send the other team home ... that's all.

Well yeah.

At the beginning of the year, I figured we'd be a virtual lock to win every game Nola starts. However, seeing our offensive struggles this season, I don't feel as confidently anymore considering the other team will be throwing their ace as well.

If it was 90% chance of a win before the season, I'm down to an 80% in confidence now. Still very confident, but reasonable at the same time.

He only pitched 84 innings last year. Nola, by comparison, pitched 126. Eades 100.

We didn't have a clear #3.
