I am a well-documented negatiger and I have been a BIG opponent of Miles (as a coach, not as a man) for many years now.

That said, I do not like how this appears to be going down. As infuriating as the man has been to me and my fandom, he deserves better than this inauspicious exit.

If we fire him before the aTm game, we're going to look like a joke nationally.

Not saying I care either way, but that's a fact.

I agree, it does feel slimely.

But, this is ultimately a business, and a very big one.

Sounds like he may have stayed stubborn to the end. I hope he resigns and he gets a last home game.

this.

the dude needs to be given a very proper exit...if that is, in fact, what's happening.

I keep hearing this. How, exactly, is this going down? No official announcement has been made.

It's the end of an era, but it's a necessary end. Miles has squandered tons of talent on this team by trying to coach them like we are playing in the 1970's.

His inability to scout and develop a quarterback in his tenure has been just disgusting.

A stand-up character, and a great man, but I want a coach who can also win games.

I feel like I know my girlfriend is no good for me and there is no future...but breaking up with her still hurts.

However, the pain fades and you forget all about it next season when you (hopefully) compete again.

Correct. It is a multi-million dollar business and Miles gets paid to do a job. It's gotten to the point where he can't do the job well enough to justify his ridiculously high salary...so he has to go. That's how it would be handled in any other business if an employee failed to meet performance standards.
