I don't see any way LSU plays tonight.

I'm hoping we can at least finish this game and play the losers bracket game late tonight. Then we can play in the morning.

They'll be lucky to finish SLU vs Rice.

Trust me, I desperately wanna get out this house. I might make the trip just to watch the others.

Futurecast has storms dancing around still at 6-7:00.

If it calms down after that, SLU/Rice might can start up again around 9:00.

LINK

It doesn't look like a second game could get played tonight.

He might be referring to some of the classic posts in the "Terrible weather forecasted all weekend" thread.

Not a chance we play tonight. And I'm really not looking forward to a 9:00 AM start tomorrow. We need peej to come in and confidently predict a rainout for the day. Things will clear up in no time

Well if they don't get it in tonight. I think they could have time to finish Game 2 and at least start the loser's bracket game tonight

Wasn't even raining when they postponed SLU game in 7th inning. They could have easily gotten in another inning, maybe more.

Lightning in the area made them stop. NCAA rule is 8 miles?

I assume BR is getting the rain that came across Tx. Well, it's still raining here and moving that way.

Why in the Hell would you try to start a game tonight that would likely not finish until the early morning hours or even worse get stopped and restarted the next morning to screw up the pitching?

You gotta play the games at some point, and the weather doesn't look great tomorrow either. If you can start at 10:00 tonight I think they will. We did that for the winner's bracket game last year on Saturday.

ETA: Obviously picking up tomorrow isn't ideal. Its worst case scenario.

Except they fricked up Sunday night:

"Regretfully, the game we were supposed to play tonight against UNC Wilmington has been postponed to tomorrow at 12 p.m. Now, you’re going to ask me why. The NCAA made a decision. They didn’t give me a reason. I don’t have a reason, okay. There is a guideline that says that you are not allowed to start a game after 11 p.m. We could have easily started this game at 10:15 p.m. Frankly, it’s a ridiculous decision. It hurts from the standpoint that when you’re in the winner’s bracket, you have a competitive advantage. That competitive advantage has been negated by this decision. It’s sad for our team, and it’s even worse for our fans. I feel so terribly bad for our 10,000 fans that all showed up here tonight and now have to go home. A terrible decision by the NCAA. Period. That’s all I have to say, and if you have any questions, I’ll be happy to answer them for you."

Was that an Alleva quote?

I was pissed. That 1st UNCW game that started at 10:00 and ended after 1:00 AM was so much fun. I was pumped to do it all over again. Then we had to go back out there the next day and sweat my arse off in the bleachers.
