I think Quinan Williams was a 3* DT out of Birmingham for them

He was a mid 4*, but I think your point is still valid. There aren't really quick fixes on the defensive line. Williams was the best player on the field last butt and he's a third year player who redshirted as a freshman. Now, he's likely (definitely?) going to be a first round draft pick.

next year

Not hammering back at you, Lester, just SO tired of hearing this. Other schools get things worked out in the offseason, we’re still an offense that’s a “work in progress” etc.

our DL. In a 3-4 they're suppose to eat blocks up in the run. The problem here is they're not that good here either

Meanwhile, Aranda can insert pretty much anyone at LB it seems like and good production from them regardless.

That second quote is your key to understanding the first.

Lawrence and Fehoko have no business in even thinking about leaving.

Fehoko is 22. Would turn 23 during the middle of the 2019 season.

He’s spent four years in college.

I imagine he’s thinking heavily about the NFL

The OL will return, essentially, every starter. That will be good for that unit. Should be much better next year

Rosenthal is going to win the LT job. Charles will be the RT. That’s what I would bet on. Dare can play.

Man I hope you're right. That would be a massive boost for the OL. If he proves to be good enough to win the LT job, then you're looking at a starting 5 of:

LT: Rosenthal
LG: Hines
C: Cushenberry
RG: Lewis
RT: Charles (He would be an elite RT)

That's a very good line with a lot of experience. Then you have some experienced depth in Deculus and a wild card in Ed Ingram. Plus a good looking group of incoming freshman.

Fehoko would be fortunate to be a seventh rounder, Lawrence a 4th. This is a historically deep DL draft. I'd say Lawrence would make a roster without a doubt. So you could argue for him, but I wouldn't.

So I think we lose Greedy and White.

Neither did Clapp or Weathersby from last year but here we are. Could have been a completely different game with those 2 back.

Amen to this, and another year would’ve only helped their stock. The early departures on the OL last year torpedoed this team. This is not a good OL at all yet the team has managed to win in spite of that - until you play a team with the DL and LB talent that Bama has.

Sounds like Lawrence is,coming back. And we do need more and better DLineman. We need true offensive tackles. We migHt have one between Dare Rosenthal and Cameron Wire.

We were beat top to bottom! It’s not just DL, OL or QB. It starts at coaching with exception to Aranda. frick we need a new AD before anything can be resolved to be honest.

Hopefully Gumbo boy will get his act together and be in the rotation next season.

I was talking about on the defensive line not the entire defense. Nobody on the line should be leaving. They've been pretty mediocre this year.

No one on D line should be even thinking about leaving. Lawrence has talent and ability, but has had like three sacks his entire three years. Non of them have shown they are consistently disruptive enough to earn an early or possibly even a mid round grade as of yet.

He was lower rated than Glen Logan. Williams was lighter coming out of high school.
Alabama front 3 of Buggs-Williams-Davis was equal if not lower rated than Lawrence-Fehoko-Logan and Alexander.
Where they catch up and surpass is in the S&C Department.

I don't know if development can make Deculus an OT.

I think he may be moving inside for depth next year. He's a smart kid - I just think he doesn't have the feet for the position. He's going to be a junior next year. I'm really hoping he surprises me.
