As you probably saw when he got thrown out, he's not the most reliable player.

You are too stupid to insult.

Article in the paper today said he received a failing grade by one point for not raising enough money for a golf tournament, which was a project that made up a high percentage of the grade. School ruled that it was inappropriate. That should have been obvious from the start and he wouldn't have missed any games.

No one knows about this. Why? Because it is the truth. Better to believe that the coach saved him with his intense scrutiny of NCAA law. Thank God for PM!!!

Don't be mad because he is speaking the truth. There is no way Foster should have been thrown out at the plate with his speed and that hit unless he fricked up. Truth.

How did he frick up? The CF was on his horse from the swing and caught the ball on 1 hop about 100 feet behind second base. The CF then made a great throw and the catcher made a great tag. If he had slipped or got a bad jump the coach would have held him up. Players get thrown out trying to score from second on a single all the time.

All the time really? Riddle me this why do they call being on second in scoring position? The fact is that Foster got a flat footed secondary and got hosed period.

Yes. All the time doesn't mean most of the time, it simply means that it is not abnormal for a player to be thrown out at home when trying to score from second, especially on a decently hit ball right at an outfielder that was already playing shallow. The throw was one the money and the catcher made a great play. If either one of these things does not happen then Foster is safe. When you send a runner home in this situation you are betting that one of those two things is going to go wrong, and often times that's the case.

Foster let up at the end when he didn't know what to do given no plate to slide to.

He did not let up. He had no choice but to slide into the guy.
You cannot take a catcher out in college. Foster would get ejected from the game.
The catcher did a great job of blocking the plate and he was making a play at the plate so he has the right to block it.
MLB changed the rules too due to injury to catchers. They are sitting ducks if a player can take them out.

I played baseball and I coach baseball. There is no doubt in my mind that JF thought he would score easily and let up a little as he rounded third. I think he was surprised that a perfect throw and catch was made to the plate. If I were him at that point, I slide much harder feet first and hope to dislodge the ball. It is not illegal to slide into a catcher feet first if the plate is blocked and there is no other path to it. Foster made a mistake and paid for it.

That said, shite happens, and I like Foster a lot.
