How would you rate LSU's defensive effort against ALA all-time?

Tiger defense looked GREAT Sat. night! Best defensive effort against a MAJOR quality opponent (a dynasty) in a long time. If offense had made 1 more BIG play we would have won that game. So how would you see-all and know-all Rantards rate it over the past say 10 seasons? Top 10? Definitely the best of 2021. Looking forward to seeing more of this aggressive effort in final 3 home games. We play like we did Sat. night on defense and we'll be competitive. Having another option at QB helps. I like our chances. Geaux Tigers!

So we got 2011 (of course - good start). But ..... it's been 10 years since 2011. Surely there have been BETTER defensive efforts for LSU since then? Maybe not? Point is it was pretty cool to see our DEFENSE keep us in the game. If you love defense that was fun to watch! We weren't scoring more than 1 TD per quarter. Ala. should have rung up 50. They didn't. Geaux Tigers!!!! I love DEFENSE!!!!!!

Top 10?
I think there have been numerous LSU defensive efforts in past 10yrs that would've gotten the W vs this Bama team.
I think without key injuries, even this D could've prevented at least one TD, and 17-14 makes for different 4th qtr decisions.

LSU has had another option all season and maybe should have given it a try?
It's not like Max has been killing it up to now.

2016 was a better defensive performance. We gave up 3 TDs Saturday. Also, Bill O'Brien calls an awful game. What a terrible hire he has been for Saban. Their WRs drop a ton of balls. Their OL gets whipped. I'm amazed they don't play their freshmen WRs more because their top WRs are definitely not like the last 2-3 years.

I’d rate Max’s performance as one of the worst I’ve ever seen by an LSU quarterback in a big game and wasted one of the best-ever defensive performances.

How about comparing to the one night "Chinese Bandits" resurgence against #1 Florida in 97? Although the successes in the two games are pass success in 97 versus run success this year, I would argue both came on the back of unlikely success in the trenches from unlikely players.
