Here is the problem, bullshite standards set by fans. They lost 4 games, and the PAC12 is no SEC.

Most of the fans that are getting called out for being content with mediocrity, are actually just realistic in that they understand how hard it is to win. UCLA loses 4 games and hey they did great, we lose 3 and lose our shite.

I for one was not cool with the idea of pushing miles out so that we hire the first guy to say yes to the job, and that is certainly what it looked like we were doing.

Could any of you calling for miles head actually stomach a losing season? What about several in a row? This isn't the NFL, there is no parity, you can't just aimlessly fire a coach without a replacement.

How do you do that? Les will win 9-10 games, lose to the now big 3 in the West. People will still look at that winning pct., the Natty in the rear view mirror, and all the endearing quirkiness that he brings to the table. He will still have 3 more years left on his contract, a fairly solid class coming in. Same ol' same ol'. I don't see any way out short of convincing him to retire for health reasons. People just love a clown.

Lay out your expectations in no uncertain terms right now, establish a timetable for him to get it done, and he doesn't meet those requirements you are good. It's the same way it's done in every business, and that's what everyone is calling it, a business decision, so be business like.

Half of me says he'll get fired after another 3-4 loss season.

Half of me says 3-4 loss seasons have been declared acceptable.

Need competent people in charge before Miles leaves/retires. I am ready for a change but at the same time maybe we caught a break because we would have had total clowns running the coaching search.

Next year will likely be a disappointment because I have zero confidence Miles actually gets a competent OC and gets out of the way. Even if he does the defense is shaky as well. LSU needs two new strong coordinators and I just don't see that happening with a coach that may or may not be there at the end of 2016.

The same ol' same ol' Miles that went undefeated in 2011?

the talent was immense on that team.. we pretty much win on talent alone.. we dominated on talent that season.. but in the rematch against equal talent we got whipped..

unless LSU has that same type of talent, especially on offensive line and defensive line.. then LSU will drop at least 2-4 games every season.. due to lack of coaching and willingness to make in game adjustments..

True FRESHMAN QB.

Stop with the we are young shite. EVERY TEAM IN THE NCAA has to deal with this. Only LSU fans use it as a crutch for another 4th place in the division finish.

I think Les will come to the conclusion that it is time for him to retire next year.

That "conclusion" will be be accompanied by a nice settlement on his contract.

You honestly do not have any faith in our coach. That is in the future and you are already asking this question?

The SEC is pretty lousy this year. I actually got into an argument with some Gumps yesterday who for some reason are desperate to maintain the fiction that the SEC is not down this year. You list every team but Bama and you see what a shite show the conference is this year. Dearth of QBs.

And it is going to really hurt if UGA grabs Herman and he turns out to be the real deal.

We had our chance and blew it.

Plus we got stuck with good 'ol Les for one more season.

Miles is done after next year. This class will get poached. LSU will have a great September and October yet no one will be confident even when we are top 5 going into November. The pressure on Miles for next year will be like nothing we've seen at LSU. I seriously doubt he is here in 2017. Hopefully the coaching world still has some big names available and Alleva grabs his fricking balls and decides to actually be an AD.

Did you actually just type this up and hit submit?

Just so I understand you - losing 4 games to Stanford, Arizona St, Wash St, and USCw is a really great year according to you but losing 3 games to Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss is inexcusable and should result in immediate termination? WTF is wrong with some of you people, like I said I really can't believe you actually typed that up and submitted it w/o realizing how absurd you sound???

What makes you think he only has one year? Yes am serious. Miles has all of the power. He survived and LSU burned the one bridge it had with Jimbo. Who else is close to Jimbo as far as a HC for LSU? Flash in the pans will not be interviewed. You need a proven coach. Chip Kelly I don't think is the answer. So if not Jimbo who then? No one. So Miles is here till he retires. As simple as that.

Why is everyone assuming we ever had a realistic chance at getting Jimbo to leave FSU? I'm really worried that the real or perceived unrealistic expectations at LSU may keep all of the top coaches from signing on. I also dont get why all of a sudden Jimbo Fisher is the ANSWER to all of LSUs issues?

No, I don't. He is 62 and is what he is. I came to like the guy as a person, though I do think he's gotten through life playing the part of a quirky clown, and believe he was always overwhelmed at the helm of a big time program. Good recruiter who out talented opponents until they acquired equal depth. Then he's in trouble.
