Miles is a lame duck. Nothing will change, our "magnificant through 7 games QB" per Les will still be driving the old Ferrari next year because he's the best we have. Art Briles couldn't coach #6 up if he lived in his spare bedroom so Fournette will be looking at 8 in the box again every Saturday. Same ol' same ol' and Miles will likely be on the hot seat by November. The "one more year" that people say he deserves will be over.

So the question is how will Alleva cut him loose then and avoid the shite show that was the last 2 weeks?

Bingo. He got a stay of execution. He's still on death row and the sentence stands. Just prolonging the inevitable.

I remember hearing "one more year" after the notre dame game this past year...

"one more year"
"next year is our year"
"the team is young"

all very common phrases now

Always an excuse for landing 4th in the west. UCLA has a true freshman playing QB and had a really great year.

Well, as is tradition, they fricked it up as much as they could. So, lesson learned perhaps? Next time, go into it with a plan that doesn't look like we're butt hurt over Alabama and it's a knee jerk reaction to it, but rather something that has been thought out and executed with some semblance of class and intelligence.

How do you do that? Les will win 9-10 games, lose to the now big 3 in the West. People will still look at that winning pct., the Natty in the rear view mirror, and all the endearing quirkiness that he brings to the table. He will still have 3 more years left on his contract, a fairly solid class coming in. Same ol' same ol'. I don't see any way out short of convincing him to retire for health reasons. People just love a clown.
