How was Joe Burrow not the first unanimous Heisman winner?

I was reminiscing last night and re-watching the second best day of my life, LSU beating bama in 2019. And I thought to myself "how tf did Joe Burrow not win the Heisman unanimously?" The second and third best players that year were Chase Young and Jalen Hurts, who don't come close to Burrow's numbers and performances. Hell even Tua got a vote and he barely played that season. Something needs to change with that dumbass voting system.

He broke just about every voting record, and some voters just vote for their home guy.

The voting was not even close.

What do you suggest that would eliminate human bias?

Getting rid of the old heads. I mean the AP voting system is dumb to. There are people who vote on that crap who barely watch college football.

Will never be a unanimous Heisman winner.

What a weird thing to cry about. There will never be a unanimous vote. No matter who you get rid of, or what you change. He won by the largest margin in history. Why not just be happy with that?

There used to be a MLB HoF voter who NEVER voted for a first-time candidate. He bragged of voting against Hank Aaron and other certain Hall of Famers.

Some people are just assholes.

Because LSU fans can’t be happy with anything. Even when nothing is wrong, we have to bitch about an imaginary insult like. See the OP for example

It won't ever happen, forget about a unanimous winner. Just like a two time winner, don't think that will happen again. Tebow deserved it more a second time than the first, powers that be just didn't let it occur.

Former winners get a vote don’t they?

You will have guys who always vote
For their Alma mater’s candidate or won’t vote for a rivals.

I doubt There will ever be a unanimous winner because so many people vote.

1. Too many people have a vote.
2. They can vote before championship weekend (the last actual week b4 bowls).

People voted for the candidate from their school hoping he would be recognized as second place.

People from other parts of the country didn’t see him as much as we did. Some voters probably don’t even watch that much football. A handful of others might have thought that Burrow mostly benefitted from Brady’s system. Other people were just biased.

Same reason Rivera was the first unanimous first ballot HOF in baseball. The voters suck.

Like what, not letting people have different opinions?

I know this is a shock to some of you, but there was history before your attention span and there were other players that were slam dunk Heisman winners in the past that should have been unanimous

First of all link? Second of all the AP poll doesn’t matter it’s been replaced by the playoff committee (which many of you argue against) Third of all the AP voters are not necessarily Heisman voters, there are only 60-70 AP voters over 900 vote for the Heisman
