Would my best option be a pocket radio to tune into Eagle 98.1? I remember a few years ago the school sold small radios for $20 that could pick up a direct feed LINK.

Is there any kind of delay in the play by play using a traditional radio?

if there is a delay its not noticeable. I use a small mp3 player that has a fm tuner and listen to 98.1. works out good.

Other than the occasional injury update or something along those lines, not sure why you need the radio if you are in the stadium watching the game.

So as not to miss the Hawthorne humor, of course.

I don't listen constantly, just keep one ear bud to hear details on injuries and stuff.

Most people don't have a static own beside them. Info like: LSU is 3/4 on third down this quarter. Or Harris until this point has completed 14 of his 20 passes attempted. Just little stuff like that. Sure, you can notice trends, but it's fun to know the little things.

No worries, all that pertinent info is streaming on the HD screens in the stadium. Hey, wait a minute..

I assume the app you are using connects via the cellular data? If so I'm not sure of the connectivity currently offered from all the providers in the area, however ATT has been horrible on game days from my experience.

Why do you assume I am listen through a app? Read what I said. I use a small mp3 player that has a gm tuner in it. No need for cellular data.

But how can you listen to the game and take selfies to post on facebook at the same time?

Something like that could work, but I would need a lightning connector.

Why do you care if other people want to listen to the game while they're watching in person?

Some are there for the actual football game and not the before or after party. We like to listen to the broadcast to hear game comments from Moreau and live sideline reports from Rush, in addition to live stats.

Listening with headphones on a pocket radio also blocks out "Drunken Bufoon" comments of any that may be sitting nearby and cuts down on the ultra annoying/irritating PIM..................

Well, mr. smart guy, thanks for reading comprehension lesson...maybe you could say what you are doing in more detail. I've never heard of an mp3 player that has a radio tuner in it. There are external connection options, for my things for that matter. Only thing internal would be an app.

They used to sell those little ear radios outside the stadium. Haven't seen them in a while. They also used to transmit the home and away radio broadcasts inside the stadium not so long ago. Maybe ubiquitous mobile data killed that.

a lot of android devices have FM tuners. Sometimes you need to root the device to enable it

AT&T was TERRIBLE last year. So much for "improved technology."
