It's amazing how these ppl shout his greatness from the top of their lungs constantly but nobody ever tried to hire him away from us and nobody wants him now. There's never been a coach with his record that this has happened too. Tim Cowlishaw wrote an article in like 08 or 09 saying no coach in college football history has ever wasted more talent.

Maybe he has no intention of coaching again.

Not only honey badger but what happens if jj doesn't get in trouble and he starts the season at qb instead of lee? We lose to Miss st. And West Virginia without a doubt and probly Oregon too.

No Question... Lee had that offense going, i hated les miles and everything he stood for after he let JJ play after the bama game.. offense was never the same..

Miles grossly underachieved at LSU to the point of disgrace. I guess it was too difficult for administration to let him go. It got to the point that no one expected him to beat 'Bama or even win a 'big' game anymore. I would love to hear his non-coach speak explanation of the QB situation while he was there and the extremely limited offensive repertoire that characterized his teams. We will probably never know.

I doubt he coaches again at an institution of any consequence.

You can argue with them til you're blue in the face. Nothing will change their minds until they are begging for 8 or 9-win seasons like Les had.

Under Orgeron, that time will come, and maybe very soon.

I was no Les fanatic and he needed to go, but not if they weren't going to upgrade to a better coach. Instead, they downgraded.

What? Educate yourself. Saban had stopped recruiting in 2004 so much so that we only had 13 recruits sign that year. We were no where near #2 recruiting class.

You need to educate yourself.

2003 recruiting class = PRIOR to the 2003 season, was ranked # 1
2004 recruiting class = PRIOR to the 2004 season, was ranked # 2

These are the two recruiting classes Miles inherited.

The recruiting class you are referring to is the 2005 class.

You think lsu was better than Oklahoma because we beat them in 2003 year Oklahoma had 4 top 5 finishes from 2000-2004 including a 5th seasons they finished 6th.
In no way were we a better prohram than oklahoma.

Well yeah, if we are referring to the state of the program at the beginning of 2005 when Miles was hired, I said you can make the argument LSU was a better program than Oklahoma. Considering LSU won a head to head matchup.

We won 33 games from 05-07 miles recruited about 10% of the players who saw action those years meaning they were here in 04 so from 01 to 07 how many games did we win? Yea top 5 program. What's sad is Saban would've won more from 05-07 and you honestly don't believe that lmfao.

Ive repeatedly said saban wouldve had more success tha miles but youre too stupid to realize it.

You cant rank a program because of what they can potentially be.

The facts are miles inherited a 3 loss program with 1 top 5 finish in the last 5 years. In no way is that a top 5 program and anyone tbat isnt biased would agree. Ive repeatedly given you 5 programs with better resumes than lsu. Youre opinion doesnt outweigh facts.

Holy shite. Oklahoma has 5 straight top 6 finishes compared to lsu having 1 top 6 finish. Its like you people really believe that lsu was this unstoppable program in 2004.

Thats your opinion.

Facts are this

#1 win % in lsu history
#1 ooc win % in lsu history
#7 win # in the 80 years of sec football
#1 ooc win % in the 80 years of sec football
Most top 25,most top 20,most top15,most top 10,most top 5 finishes in lsu history.
During his tenure no program beat more ranked teams.
No program was in the top 25 more weeks.

So your ignorant opinion is that he underachieved while FACTS prove he has had the best tenure in lsu history.

He has 7 of lsu's 29 top 15 finishes.
He has as many top 5 finishes as Saban, mac and Dietzel combined.

Its like you peoole really believe we have sucked during his tenure.

Yeah the class where saban stopped recruiting and miles had a month to salvage. Thats what he inherited.

But hey youre the dumbass that actually believes 1 top 5 finish is better than 4 top 5 finishes because the former team beat the latter one time.

Do you realize saban wasn't the coach for decades before 05? And it was 2 top 5 finishes.

From 1987 (Mike Archers first season) to 2004 (Nick Sabans last season), LSU finished in the top 5 twice, 1987 and 2003 being those two years.

In 2000, LSU was ranked #22 in the final AP poll and NR in the Coaches poll
2001, LSU was ranked #7 in the AP and #8 in the Coaches.
2002, LSU wasn't ranked in either poll.
2003, LSU was ranked #2 in the AP poll (USC was their National Champion) and the Coaches poll had LSU ranked #1.
2004, both polls had LSU ranked #16.

Nick Saban had a good run while he was at LSU and he did some good things for the program, but he sure as hell didn't leave LSU as a top 5 program.

Its like some of you have no idea how few coaches out there can bring in elite talent AND be a great coach. The ones that do it consistently are the best coaches in cfb.

I just find it absolutely ignorant to say the best win% in lsu history and one of the winningest coaches in sec history underachived to the point of disgrace. It makes lsu fans look ignorant as frick to say that the best tenure in school history is a disgarce.

No it's you whose blind coaches that being elite talent usually win big miles is one of the very few that couldn't do this. Stoops Meyer Saban Carroll Fisher are your elite recruiters in the past 16 years besides Miles and all have won consistantly more than Les.

Lmao you misquote the ranking to hide the truth.. You say 1 top 5 ranking when the facts are we had a no 1 ranking and a no 6 ranking and even though we fell out of the top 25 in 02 it doesn't take away the fact that at full strength they were a top 10 team and were moving up before the injuries. Couple that with the classes that were stockpiled and you have a top 5 program.

No shite .thats why they are considered the best coaches in cfb. You do realize there are programs that recruit as well as lsu and arent as consistent.
