Indy Colts offered him their coaching job before offering to Mors. He turn them down they hired Mora and Drafted Payton.

It should really be a crime to make any sort of similarity comparison between Saban and Orgeron.

The fact that this goes unmentioned is mind boggling to me.

The freaking NFL was interviewing him darn near every year he was at Michigan State. That is a fact. We new before he got to LSU that his next stop was the NFL.

I don't think that's true.

I bet you can't find anything to back that up.

Haha

Comparing Ed Orgeron to Nick Saban.

LSU fans are hilarious.

It's true. Saban was getting offers from the NFL every year. Google it for yourself.

I only remember 1 school, and the interest was weak and that's Notre Dame. He gave them fits his last 3 or 4 years at MSU (He was undefeated against ND) and Bob Davie was sucking it up pretty bad.

He was at Michigan State when LSU hired him away. Michigan State is a pretty darn good program so it not like he was at some no named non power 5 school. Don't act like LSU found some diamond in the rough, with Saban, and magically made him a great Coach. That's just fools gold your trying to sell yourself.

I'm older than you, and I remember it very clearly. LSU beat Michigan State in the Independence Bowl and almost every year after I kept seeing Nick Saban's name as a candidate for NFL jobs. I admit that I didn't understand it at the time, but he proved why. Also, when he arrived in Baton Rouge the talk on the radio was that the folks at Michigan State warned us that every year his name would be mentioned for NFL jobs. That is a fact.

It was widely assumed his next stop was the NFL. LSU made him one of the highest paid coaches in the game, one of only a few making 7 figures at the time, based on his potential and vision. They didn't go cheap.

This comparison is exactly the opposite of what you think it is.

And why LSU? We had just stomped him in Indy Bowl.
