The homer in me says around 3,000 with the help of the guys that he's throwing to. The realist in me...

Counting the bowl or no?

300 yards/game against a 10 game SEC slate would be a hell of a season.

I would include the bowl. Yeah, no cupcakes to inflate numbers. That's why I'm keeping my realistic expectations to myself.

assuming we only play 10 games, and a bowl, 3300ish.

if we had a full season i'd put him around 4200.

eta: i'm allowed to be an insufferable homer for a decade after last season. i have a permit.

3,000 yards is probably a good target. I think he'll average around 250 ypg passing. 10 game season and a bowl game will give him at least 11 games to get there.

I'll take the under but barely. 2,750-3000 yards passing for the season. I think we'll see rushing numbers like we saw in 2017.

Good point. I imagine that the number of run plays called will go up slightly this year as well.

2,500 area

Schedule with all SEC games will be tougher, for sure. Not "stat padding" games.

2500 with 15-20 TDS and 5-10 Picks seems right. That'd be 250 Yds, 1-2 TDs, and 0-1 picks a game. Maybe higher on the TDS?

But who knows.

I did this exercise a few days ago projected 2500 yards and 27 TDs based on a 10 game schedule at 80% volume and efficiency of what Burrow did last year.

Our defense wasn't very good during the regular season last year and the offense was put back on the field quickly and we were forced to keep the passing game going. I think we will be see deflated numbers due to less possessions and a little more running game. Its more about efficiency. Will say 2500 yards with 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions.

I believe this to be most likely as the running game will be the horse that we will ride most. We had qb's in this range in 04 and 08 and it worked out pretty well as we had good defenses. Pelini's defense being one of those championship seasons.
