How many of you truly consider a non NC year a bust?

Simply curious, no flame to the fan base. Me personally consider an SEC championship and a playoff appearance a huge success and the NC icing on the cake. With the playoff it's very tough to go all the way now. But there's also the argument that we can't get complacent and accept only those things as successes. what do you guys think?

Huge success if they make playoffs.

Not me. Going into the season, I thought we would end up with 1 or 2 losses. 3 would have been somewhat disappointing, and 4 or more would be a bust.

I used to. But a combination of LSU winning a couple titles and getting a bit older has tempered my expectations. A team has to be really good and get a little luck to win it all. Now I just try to enjoy the game.

Herbie put us in his top 4 again. I'm assuming this is the reason.

If that is your criteria, every fan base with good teams will be sad except one. Now, if LSU gets there and loses, sure I'll be disheartened for a couple of days, but when I look back on the season, I'll be proud of the Tigers.

Not a bust. But last year's 7-5 (4-4) record was a travesty.

Considering the "thinness" we have in our Front 7, just making the playoffs would be a great accomplishment. Even if we don't win, it would not be a bust.

The same outcome applied to '16 would be a different story. Assuming we stay healthy and get the recruiting haul expected in January and therefore shoring up the DL and LB corps, anything but a NC in January 2017 would be a big disappointment. Winning the Natty would be a perfect end to #7's career at LSU.

We could easily lose 2-3 games. More would be disappointing. Playoffs would be awesome and anything can happen if we get that far. Very possible.
