How is Alleva still employed?

I would kill to be paid millions of dollars to be the most incompetent employee in my industry, we won't even get into the absolute debacle of how Ed Orgeron (praying he succeeds) is now head coach.

Alleva's job is to maintain the football program and make money from it. Everything about his job security is now tied to Ed Orgeron so the calling for his name is just a waste of time right now.
Also, you want to see debacle? Go back to the Texas HC search where they were actively fighting among themselves on what to do with Strong and were actively recruiting Herman while Strong was still coaching games.
At least the BS about our search was actually created by the media rather than our own doing.

Alleva with F King's help is slowly bringing LSU back to the early 90's in all sports.

Correction: "Alleva at F. King's direction..."
This has been headed down hill ever since F. King announced that "LSU is preparing for academic bankruptcy..."
The thought has occurred to some of us that he intends to prove how big the problem is by his policies that affect athletics generally and football in particular. Its possible that F. King thinks that the best way to pressure these hayseed legislators on budget issues is to hog tie or punish the football program until he gets their attention on funding the academic side.
As reprehensible as that strategy would be, it is not out of the question.

how did he get hired in the first place after the duke lacrosse debacle

I would kill to have been sitting around the table when someone said, "hey let's hire the Duke Lacrosse debacle AD"

It's damn near impossible not to make money from our football program at this point, and that doesn't even include the SEC revenue. Joe Dean had the department turning profits.

Texas got the guy they wanted, the same guy who was widely considered the top available coach on the market, and they made Alleva take his ball and go home while crying like a baby.

I'm not saying he the best director in the country by any means, but perhaps he does do some things really well.

He's a joke and an idiot to boot

My operating assumption is that Alleva does exactly what his boss, F. King, tells him to do .
Does anybody here have any facts to suggest he doesn't ?
How could Alleva keep his job otherwise?

No, but the football program has a lot to do with that, and he had nothing to do with getting the football program to where it is today. It actually seems as if he's trying his hardest to hurt the program.

It isn't hard to figure out, folks.
Alleva's history is what everybody focuses on with this board, but if you want to know what his orders are, look to his boss, F. King.
F. King was handpicked to succeed his father to head Murray State, an FCS school with lousy football but a good basketball and rifle team.
He went to Long Beach State, which is a huge commuter school with lower graduation rates than LSU. Long Beach doesn't field a football program at all.
Our Gov. Jindal (Brown Univ.) handpicked F. King as the sole finalist to be the Pres of LSU over the objections of many.
F. King could care less about our football program, unless it gets in his way in other pursuits.
Rifle team anyone?

In the opinion of some of the higher ups, his main job is to make money for the athletic department and he is doing that although this athletic department could make money on cruise control.

That right there is all you need to know about Bobby Jindal. He actively hates LSU and cared absolutely zero about helping Louisiana. He wanted a springboard to a possible presidential run, but he is so damned worthless he managed to stand out as bad even in the state that invented horrible governance.

You'd think the BoS could see that fans are going to quit paying for athletics when they are wrecked as badly as Joe has them.
