A new coach will most likely want his own guys at every position.
Orgeron will be a new coach. He's just as likely to want his own staff in place as an outside hire would be.

so we're getting Coach O as a HC and losing Aranda for Charlie Strong and you're excited about this scenario?

I honestly don't care. I really wonder what made him take this job knowing how the end of 2015 went down with Miles. He had to know there was a short leash with the administration and he was doing fine where he was before. He is a young guy who might be a head coaching candidate soon so I guess it helps to build his resume.
If we keep Orgeron I am fine with keeping Aranda but most new coaches don't like leftovers being kept for them. Fisher was kept by Miles and then left immediately. It's rarely a good situation.
Aranda has a ton of talent and is starting to get this defense going. But we haven't exactly been dominant although I realize we have 3-4 key injuries. Every DC we have is always the best on the planet in the eyes of our fans. But there are a ton of great DCs out there who can coach this level of talent.

Bold statement but it's tough to argue. However, you know that "O" is gonna continue to recruit his arse off.
I would argue that Aranda is the better recruiter.
-We got more positive feedback from recruits this off-season after Aranda's visits.
-It is known that Coach O's philosophy is to let the coaches coach and Aranda is a guy who can actually do the coaching.
-If I'm a recruit comparing the success levels of each coach, I've got a lot more confidence in trusting my future with Aranda than O.

Thoughts ?
You have to keep him on staff as long as possible, even if it means giving him the head job or putting it in his contract that he gets the head job at a later date, I dont care.. he is it..

its everything, we should already be re-working his contract. Aranda makes 1.2, Steele makes 1.4, chavis makes 1.55.
frick that. if we were giving cam fricking cameron 1.5 theres no reason we cant give Aranda 1.6 or more.
id give him 2 million and tell the next head coach youre not getting rid of him, take it or leave it... if he leaves it i dont want him anyway cause hes got the stupid.

It's a must keep Aranda at all costs. That's why we offer O the job.
