Coach O is building the next SEC dynasty. And YES, it was all outlined in the binder.

I think at the heart of all of this is the fact that Ed O is a true Tiger fan. When people were saying he is one of us (and being ridiculed for it) this is what that meant. As a fan, he knows what the fans want, he is passionate about LSU football and knows what he wants to see on the field. This makes it much more personal for him. It's more than a paycheck.

I agree. Effectively delegating is probably the most important part of management.

You are trying way too hard to discredit O. Not only did he make these hires, he took a step back and let them run their offense. If you know O's past, that was a huge change for him.
no, I give O full credit for bringing in Brady and letting him install/run this new offense.

Full credit to O.

I'm just pointing out the fact that O's first two offenses were poor. Year 3 is exceptional, but years 1 and 2, with two different OCs, were poor). That's just a fact.

But again, full credit to O for the Brady hire and this year's offense.

Hiring the smartest people is evidence of a coach’s

I think if you named 4 things that O needed to do to be successful at LSU it would be

1. Recruit at an Elite level
2. keep the Defensive staff together
3. Find someone to fix the offense
4. Not micromanage

and in the last year I think he is starting to click on all those things.

is he not winning with Miles players right now? Hilarious watching the narratives develop on this board.

Miles wins only with Saban players despite putting together one of the best LSU TEAMS in history.

O has not shown any ability to win big games or adjust any differently than Miles in two games with Alabama, but now is closet genius that is winning with his elite recruits. So far in big games, Florida last year and Bama, he has laid an egg, but he has outsmarted the rest of college football..

Realistically we do not know what we have in O as a head coach yet, the jury is still out.

Based off your "sarcastic post" I can only assume you don't have much to sell.

The next 4 games will tell us all we need to about the accuracy of this claim. Win them O is a great hire.

Pretty sure we lost out on Surtain because Saban was in his ear telling him Raymond was leaving or would leave soon.

3 games vs. Alabama. He needs to figure it out and made huge steps this offseason with the offense. Our game vs. the gumps this year will be telling.

Yes, but I do not think it fair to count that interim year against him. That really was not his team although I think he did a good job except for Florida and Alabama that year.

He is 1-3 in big games. 1 loss to Florida, 1 win against UGA, 2 losses to Bama. I do not think he needs to win all 4 of the upcoming games, but he must go 3-1. If he loses one it needs to be to Florida and not Auburn or Bama.

That's fair. But getting shut out at lsu should never happen. Ever.

If O can compete better with Alabama and beat them every now and then (maybe 1 out of 3 because let's be honest, Saban is the goat) and consistently win games that we should win, he will be here a long time.

I think Kirby over at UGA is having a larger impact on Alabama recruiting than on LSU's. That seems to be helping.

You honestly think LSU has only played 4 "big games" in the last two years? And one of them was against #22 UF but not vs#10 Auburn, vs#8 Miami, @#7 Auburn, or @#9 Texas? And then say that he must go 3-1 the next 4 games but a loss to UF would be more excusable than Auburn or Bama?

I feel like there is some bias in your logic here.

Do know coach O? have you ever had an extended conversation with him? How could you possibly speak to his intelligence?

Pretty sure there’s no such thing as a “rocket surgeon” - they’re called aeronautical engineers.

I love Coach O but he didn’t outsmart anyone. The best thing he did was realize he is NOT the smartest guy and went and found some folks smarter than he was and let them work.

I didn't see anyone post this, but if you actually listened to the whole video, the analyst says, ".. and I put this all in caps: HE GOT OUT OF THE WAY".

One of the main points of the analysis is that O is not prideful nor defined by any pre-conceived philosophy. Whereas, Harbaugh and others of his ilk are chained to an old philosophy that no longer works in 2019, and they are too stubborn to change.

THAT is how O has "outsmarted" so many others.
