Wife and I will be visiting NYC during that weekend and we want to be sure we get a good seat to watch the Tigers. How early should we arrive??

Didn’t know if should ask here or Travel Board. Please move if appropriate.

This doesn’t answer your question but we were there when Joe won the heisman and it was nuts! Went back that Monday night when Brees broke the TD record against the colts I think. Not too nuts.

I’d say 1-2 hours before should be safe unless there is a surge of Louisianans in the city.

Eta: if it were me I’d go 2-3 before just to get lubricated right.

It won’t be for that game but wife (no pics) and I will be doing that for another game this year. Dear God, I wish I was the last years Bama game. I know someone who went last year, for that game, and they said it was insane.
Enjoy

For just 2 people 1 hour is more than fine, you will get a good seat.

Unless its the SEC champ, playoff, or Bama you only need to be there 1 hour early if you have a larger group like 4 or more people.

Only game on that day. I wouldn’t think much of a crowd early. It’s a cool vibe for sure

I got there an hour early for the Georgia Vs LSU game in 2013 and I wish I would have gotten there sooner. It was packed.

One of the best experiences watching a LSU game at a bar ever. Had Murray not drove Georgia down and won at the end it would have been a better after party though.

LSU-Alabama 2011 I got there at noon and someone was already at my usual table....

Honestly depends on where you want to sit...basement is last to fill up...

As long as we’re not crossed up with another group, 30 minutes will be just fine.

Depends on what type of seat you want. If you are looking for one of the booths I'd say at least 2 hours ahead of time. The high tops and tables will fill up 1-2 hours ahead of time. Bar seating is spotty as people tend to come and go there and the bar is pretty good size. There's also an upstairs that people sometimes forget about with couches and stuff that can fill up fast as well. If you are not there by at least 30 minutes before kickoff, chances are you will be standing most of the game.

I went when LSU opened the season against TCU. Got there a hour before kickoff and it was packed. Me and my then girlfriend had to wait a while. We should have gotten there sooner.

I say an hour before. On busy college football weekends people tend to come in and then after the big games it clears out for a little then builds back up. Food is not great. It is fun there though and a good city experience

I was there when Brees broke the record. It was pretty empty. It is an LSU bar, not a Saints bar for sure.

yeah, earlier that day we were walking up and into central park so we called to see if we should make reservations. the guy said nah, we're not expecting a huge crowd for this tonight, but, we will set aside a booth in front of one of the big tv's upstairs. so that was cool. and ironically we ran into a person we know from our area.
