Good info,I for one think he is the best we have on the roster and will be every bit as good as Joe Addai. Similar in skill set as well

Ford has very good speed in the 100 but just average (for big-time RBs) speed over shorter distances. At least that was the story on him coming out of high school.

We'll see, but anyone who is expecting Trent Richardson-level talent is asking for a lot.

If Richardson ran behind LSU's OL last year he wouldn't have looked good at all. That Bama OL opened some holes. Ford will look good when the LSU OL is good.

He doesn't. Not yet anyway. Trent was clocked at 4.39 on a fast track but either way, a 4.5 flat (if you watched him you know he's at least got that) is fast at that size. I think he ran a 10.6 100m time and of course he's strong as an ox especially his legs.

They'll likely end up around the same size carrying 225 and not losing speed. These guys are different that your Charles Scott's of the world because they aren't really power backs (the label) at that size. They can and will run over you, around you and with a step or two.....bye!

I expect Ford to be the #2 back for you guys before "fall practice" is over. Will he produce as much as Trent? Well that depends on the OL of course. Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson benefit from a great OL coach and a head coach that preaches intensity and domination.

I wish him well all year minus one game....

Ford benches 465 lbs. If Richardson is stronger than that... well, I doubt it.

The reports on Ford so far is that he looks the best of all the RBs. I hope he gets some PT, I think he can be special.

Well, they are both strong as hell and both are weight room warriors. I'd like to see a link or something to prove that Ford maxes out at 465. Did he attend a combine to prove that or is that what he's reporting? You know how kids tend to lose a couple of inches in height, lose about 15 llbs of weight and somehow get slower when they really test out.....

Anyhow, you guys got a good one. He's sure to succeed.

Just read where Ford ran a 4.69 at a scout.com combine. They don't do the BP I guess.

If Ingram wasn't at Bama last year, then Richardson wins the Heisman as a true freshman. Yes, he is THAT good.

It could be argued that he was better than Ingram last year.

Without Richardson, Bama doesn't ever get past AU

LMAO you are completly overrating him. He was no where near the best freshman runningback last year.

He had a good not great freshman season. Absolutley nothing special about the season he had last season. Richardson isn't on the same planet as Lewis from Pitt or James from Oregon.

Ford's bench was reported this morning on DD at 465. Who knows if it's right ?
I'd be more interested in his squat and broadjump stats.

Damn, that's a very strong upper body for a guy that size. That should help him with blocking SEC LB's. His squat number now has my imagination. I wish we could get some numbers from Tide players but as you guys know, Saban won't even let us know what they get to eat.....

Lewis and James had 1800 and 1500 rushing yards respectivly. Lewis Especially was Pitt's entire offense running behind an average OL and average passing game. Richardson was a backup behind the best OL in the country and had 700.

You basically just proved my point. Richardson was playing behind the Heisman trophy winner and still accounted for 700 yards on the ground.

Yes, Bama had an excellent Oline, but anyone watching the guys run can tell both of them are elite RBs that will be high draft choices.

Lewis and James were the premier backs at their schools. Had Richardson been the #1 back for Bama he would have been in the Heisman discussion.

For what it's worth, DandyDon reported this morning that Michael Ford got the best of Josh Johns during the Big Cat drills yesterday. Dandy reports Johns at 6'2" 205 lbs and Ford at 5'10" 207 lbs.

Probably doesn't mean all that much, but at least he's showing some power in Miles' new "GET MEAN" drill.

OL will be much more aggressive and heavier next season. Also if Ware starts this fall with a bang I think he'll over take Ridley. Miles wants to run the ROCK desperatley and he's gonna use whatever backs get it done.

So being a good(far from great) backup to a heisman winner makes you an elite runningback now? Come on, where is the logic? Dion Lewis had the best freshman season since AD, you are either a closet Bama fan or just in the moment.

Trent gained over 100 yards in the NC game against Texas who had the #1 rated rush D in the nation and that was as a backup. #1 or #2 rated RB coming out of HS depending on which service you ask. Did you even watch this kid play? He's likely the second best RB in the SEC........let's see your guys compared to Trent when the NFL draft happens in a couple more years for these guys.

LOL so your basing Richardson being better off of ONE game in which Alabama's OL dominated? Come on seriously.
