They have such a hard road to get to the national championship. I am worried about the UCLA game. Kiki Rice and Charisma Osborne concern me much more than Betts. We have a tendency to go through extended minutes of poor play and bad decisions like seen in the MTSU game. When we decide to turn it on, we're as good as anyone but we can't afford to take a quarter off anymore. Iowa is gunning for us if we get to that match-up and the NCAA is going to do all they can to get Caitlin to the championship.

Williams, Van Lith, Flaujae and the forward from Louisville, I forget her name, but I hope all of them has a great game shooting from outside because they'll neeed it. I would say Reese too, but Reese can't shoot from outside to save her life, and that's a weakness for her that she'll have to work on if she wants to play in the WNBA. Reese always struggles against big teams with big women like this UCLA team has at center, she (Reese) puts up the ugliest looking shots when playing against a big girl.

They call it as a fair game, and lsu can repeat with good play. If it gets physical, ucla and South Carolina will beat lsu.
we'll see, my man because it will get physical. Mulkey will probably play the young girl, I forget her name, but she has the size to play against Ucla. She's just not that gifted athletically, she's kinda robotic, but she's 6'6 and you can't teach that.

Cannot think past UCLA. Beating them will be a chore.

Anything after that is gravy

If they playing up to their potential, they can beat anyone . I’d like to think the team we saw in the second half against MTSU is the team we will see from here on out

I don’t think they beat UCLA. I think it’s obvious they’re not as good as last year and everybody is downplaying the distraction that this Mulkey drama is causing

UCLA worries me more than Iowa does tbh because they rebound the ball as well as we do.

We need the WaPo to go ahead and release that article. If they do, we win the natty.

This UCLA game could be similar to the Utah game last year. Meaning the toughest game for us in the tournament. I dont think they’ll take Iowa or Colorado lightly if we get past UCLA.

Good question. No one is rooting more than me for us to repeat and we are certainly capable.

That being said, this team has just never really come together totally. It just doesn’t seem to be a typical Mulkey-coached team. Injuries and dismissals have a lot to do with that, and while I kept telling myself this would not matter with the talent on this team, the lack of a crackerjack point guard has hurt us.

If I was forced to bet big money, I’d bet we do not make the final four. I just think all our problems, the careless passing, the stupid turnovers, the streaky offense, no PG driving and dishing, stubbornly trying to force it into Angel and her not kicking it back out, the aggravating neglecting of MK Williams in the offense—all of those are going to catch up with us, I think.

That being said, I hope the women get out there and make me eat my words. Go Tigers!

you're right, they just haven't jelled together all season long and I was looking for them to do that. They have just been inconsistenr all season as a team, looking good in some games, but mostly inconsistent and sloppy most of the other games.

This could be. I think it all comes down to if LSU raises their level one more notch which they are capable of. Has this team because of last years success still been coasting until this point. Can Mulkey bring it out of them? Can they not get in foul trouble. These womens games that for some reason seems to play a much greater effect.

You really can't predict how that's going to play within the team. It could very well sharpen the focus in that "us against the world" way.

But UCLA and S Car are the big hurdles. Iowa doesn't worry me - Clark won't beat LSU by herself. (I haven't seen USCsr, not sure about them.)

Elite eight is where I expected them to get this year considering the lack of a bench.
