He never played 1b until this year. Arkansas coach stayed with him and that was really the only open position they had. Kid can rake.

ALL would have helped is this season.

Our pitching was pure garbage this year.

I mean, being able to throw a strike =

Improvement.

Because Shreveport really isn't part of Louisiana. They fill more attached to Arkansas and E Texas than to LA, so the pull toward LSU really isn't that great.
Plus Shreveport think the Cowboys are their team instead of the Saints.

You couldn't be more wrong. Almost anytime a top recruit from Shreveport-Bossier will commit to LSU if offered. It's some weird thing that people from South Louisiana think we have no state pride up here.

In the 60s through the mid 90s sure there were a ton of Cowboy fans here, but that was all over the country, fairweather fans are universal. I guarantee that it's at LEAST a 60-40 split toward the Saints now.

Baseball development is so hard to predict. I played high school with a kid that was the most average player on earth, didn’t really do anything that well. Turned down D2 offers to walk onto university of Central Ark as a catcher and ended up getting drafted and he’s now playing AAA for the Royals. Just so wild and it came out of nowhere but I doubt the Univ of Ark is really bummed about missing that eval

Is he a Friday night starter? If so then I’ll agree. If he’s just a bullpen arm then I’ll disagree hard. Guess we don’t know since he didn’t pitch…

It happens...unfortunately LSU is not everyone in Louisiana's first choice. LSU has had some mighty good players from North Louisiana AND Texas!

But he didn’t. He benched him towards the end of the year and moved Slavens to 1B. Problem was the backup DH hit like .220 - even worse than Stovall.

LSU did not make contact with him until after he committed to Arkansas. He would have gone to LSU if they had.

Thanks for letting us know you didn’t watch until the SEC tourney/regionals.

The starting pitching was bad but the pitching staff as a whole wasn’t. The bullpen got overused and worn out and it caught up with them in the postseason.

Who are we taking out of the lineup for Stovall to start?

You’re not taking any of the infield bats out of the lineup. I guess maybe he could have taken over the DH role from Jobert but as mentioned Stovall didn’t hit well during the regular season.

Lot of instate kids decided they didn't want to play for the former staff, towards the end. Lot wanted to but weren't offered, i.e. Tanner Hall.

Tanner Hall was not a SEC prospect. Please stop using him as an example as a miss. There are plenty of others you can use.
