I think what makes tigerdroppings attractive is that it's got the perfect amount of traffic

You're not going to have to wait all day for someone to respond to a post and it's not so much traffic that things get bumped off the page too quickly

Nice steady flow

Both the Saints and LSU being hugely successful in recent years which certainly hasn't hurt.

They don't ban a team's fans from posting whenever LSU loses.

The fact that fans from other schools are welcomed here is a big factor. You get conference/regional discussions here that can't happen on other boards with ban-happy and defensive mods.

There are lots of topics that interest me outside of my own school's program, and TigerDroppings is the best one-stop shop.

In my opinion, the appeal of TD is the vast amount of information spanning virtually any topic in existence that is updated by the minute, all in one easily accessible place. Seriously, if its happened, somebody here has posted about it. Info breaks here before the news outlets see it. Since I started reading this site there has never been a water cooler conversation where I didnt have more info than the others talking, whether it be with respect to LSU football, celebrity deaths, or any other stupid shite people are talking about. Often, you have to ferritt through "rumors", but the truth always follows. Great place.

Like everyone said, the layout is great, which makes it easy to follow, but the biggest thing for me is they let in posters from other boards. Unlike at Tide Fans which is one big Bama circle jerk, you get other fan's input. That plus you have to keep to a specific board for whatever your topic is and not mix in a bunch of useless crap.

I like the traffic explanation...that is true too but I still think the idiot count here is the highest

Well, we're all pretty passionate about LSU football, and TD is one of the only places where I can get a fix for it in the off season. Also, if you look long enough, you can find links to everything in the print media on here too, as well as video's, sometimes true inside info.

Couple of suggestions:

iPhone app for TigerDroppings
link board for videos, columns.

Site layout. If you don't think this is important rummage through half a dozen other boards on the web and your eyes will scream in pain. If you can't navigate a board you aren't going to use it.
