So sorry, we stranded 2 whole runners at 3rd through 9 innings. Gee, that looks much better doesn’t it.

4 years ago. In 2017. And we lost. And it really wasn’t close. And we’ve been on the downstroke since.

This is 2021. Try to keep up.

Florida has not played for a championship since we have played for one. So how are we out of the conversation but they aren’t? There’s been 2 champions since LSU and Florida played in the title. Try to keep up. We aren’t that far removed.

State only reached 3B 4 times in the game. Three of those were walked that scored. There was only 1 XBH. I mean, I know you think these are good arguments, but you’re looking foolish right now. We actually outhit State tonight.

Where did I say that?

Hey, I’m not really concerned with Florida’s program or it’s direction. I’m concerned with LSU’s program and it’s direction. Which is downhill.

And incidentally, if one year in the past 12 where we got swept in the NC series is what you’re hanging your hat on, then you’ve already lost the argument.

In a previous post you said that we are not really even in the conversation anymore.

Then don’t compare us to Florida and say we aren’t in the conversation when we played them in the championship series the last time they were there.

Yeah that puts us in the same category as any of the other top programs. Yeah we went 0-2 to a great pitching staff. It happens. You gotta make it there to have a chance to win. If your argument is that we are going downhill because the last time we played for the title we went 0-2, then you’ve already lost the argument.

If you’re satisfied by what you’ve seen from our hitters through these two games, then I guess we are in for a long season.

The problem is Paul let it get to the point that LSU is a consistently inferior program to Mississippi State.
This series loss to Miss St is only the second time Mainieri has lost a series to them in his 14 SEC seasons at LSU.

Any other stupid “facts” you want to spew?

Just for shits and giggles...

Smoke’s last two seasons:

2005
41-22 (18-12) - Lost in regional final to Rice in Houston

2006
35-24 (13-17) - No post season

Combined 76-46 (31-29)

Paul’s last two full seasons:

2018
39-27 (15-15) - Lost in regional final to Oregon St. in Corvallis

2019
40-26 (17-13) - Swept by FSU in super regional in Baton Rouge

Combined 79-53 (32-28)

Which has nothing to do with Florida or what they’ve done since 2017.

They won in 2017. Which is still more recent than 2009, last time I checked.

My argument is that 2017 was a fluke and that we haven’t done shite since.

I’m not satisfied, but I also realize that this is the first time a majority of our lineup is seeing SEC pitching and State has what might be the best pitching staff in the country. I’m hoping that as the season progresses our offense improves.

It was apparent his style and approach were not going to work to sustain the program on their own merits. It didn’t take long for his own recruiting classes to show how shitty they truly were and the coaching itself wasn’t much better.

You literally said it in reference to Florida and Vandy winning championships more recently than LSU and how LSU is not in the conversation anymore. LSU played for a championship the last time Florida did. How are they in the conversation but we aren’t?

Got ya so playing in a championship and losing means you aren’t in the conversation for one. Got it

Of course it was a fluke. How could I forget? I wish we had a good coach then so we would have definitely won it all.

Had 2020 been allowed to take place, PM’s 2019/2020 totals may have needed up worse than Smokes last two years. 2020 would have put Paul on the hot seat imo.
